Heritage Charities

The object of the charity shall be the provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Ramsbury without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for meetings, lectures and classes, and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the objects of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

Provide building space and facilities for groups and classes within the community which benefit people in different ways (e.g. health, social interaction, learning, skills, youth development etc.).

Provides a meeting place for community groups and for individuals wishing to hire the premises for parties etc and other activities.

MAKING FINANCIAL GRANTS TOWARDS THE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CHIMES/BELLS IN THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST MARY THE VIRGIN SOUTHWELL NOTTINGHAMSHIRE; AND MAKING FINANCIAL GRANTS TOWARDS DEFRAYING THE COST OF THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF THE FABRIC OF THE SAID CHURCH; AND MAINTAINING A RESERVE FUND FOR SUCH PURPOSES

To tell the public about the history and current activites of the peace movemement and to support the creation of a national peace museum

To encourage interest and research into the railway history of Cumbria and adjacent areas;To collect and preserve information and materials for the advancement of public education;

The advancement of Islam and promoting its proper understanding in the Western world. In particular providing to the local Muslim community education,welfare services,history and culture, recreation and leisure activities. All activities available for male and female and young and old members of the Muslim community.

To further the understanding of the role and history of the Royal Air Force in peace and war through publications, seminars and educational and charitable grants.

CHURCH BELL RESTORATION

To promote cultural, religious, social, educational, physical and economic welfare of the Members of the Mahajan;To advance the Hindu religion and co-operate with other organisations engaged in the promotion of Hindu religion, culture and to affiliate with such organisations if necessary;To advance the education of the public in Hindu traditions, history, language, literature and music.

To provide and maintain as a memorial to the people of East Grinstead a public park with playing fields and recreation grounds. Also to encourage and promote any form of public recreation or education or any other charitable object.

To promote the understanding and appreciation of the decorative and fine arts through a series of public lectures and with visits to relevant exhibitions, museums, galleries and historic houses. Also by giving grants to schools to encourage arts activities and the spread of knowledge about art and artists with an emphasis on involvement in practical projects.

The principal activity of the charity is the advancement of public education in the history, economy, geology and other features of the Dudley Canal Tunnel and Inland Waterways. In furtherance of the objectives the charity operates passenger vessels through the Dudley Canal Tunnel and on other canals in the region.

The charity assists pupils or past pupils of Charterhouse School, usually for educational purposes, where there is hardship.

The Bishop Skirlaugh Charity was given by Walter de Skirlaw, formerly Bishop of Durham, the founder and builder of the church, for the repairs and maintenance thereof.

The Friends exist to educate the public by promotion, support, assistance and improvement of the Bushey Museum and Art Gallery through the activities of a group of members.

Reviewing local planning proposals and submitting views. Attending consultation meetings and public hearings where appropriate.Presenting slide shows to interested parties.Arranging visits to places of historical and/or environmental interest.Publishing a quarterly journal "City and County"Campaigning as deemed necessary to protect landscape and heritage

To raise funds for the maintenance and repair of Saint Mary's Church Kintbury

The group is established to pursue the following objects in the counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Wiltshire and the Channel Islands: To advance the study and practice of archaeology; To promote the education of the public in such archaeology; To conduct and/or communicate the results of relevant research; To advance public understanding and care of the historic environment.

The charity provides our community with a pleasant and safe facility for their use for meetings and a range of social functions, such as Keep Fit, WI and a Local History Group. We fundraise by hosting events (for example: a monthly quiz/supper and an annual Duck Race and Fayre). All of which enrich the social activities of our community.

Maintaining the Memorial Hall Building for the use of the residents and surrounding areas for various activities

The Friends of Norwich Museums has been set up to help & support the Norwich Museums to aquire, via gifting or purchasing for their collections objects of intrinsic historic & artisitc value, and thus improve the display of such exhibits the charity arranges various fund raising & encourages donations in order to be able to provide for grants & purchases of such items.

To improve the conditions of life of the inhabitants of Halsall without distinction of political, religious or other opinions by the provision and maintenance of:(a) a village hall for use by the inhabintants, including use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation(b) a recreation ground for use by the inhabitants

Scouting, including camps, trips & outings to local museums etc. & sports events within the group & in the district

Promotes the interests of inhabitants of the North Laine Area of Brighton by working with the local authority, police & other voluntary groups. Residents with a concern can raise it at one of our monthly meetings or in our newsletter, the Runner. At meetings, in the Runner and on our web site, useful information such as local history or forthcoming social events of the association is given.
