Village Museum

Since our aim is to further cultural relations with France and to strengthen members' knowledge of France, the French language and the French way of life we have regular lectures, in French, on varied aspects of French culture - literature, art, music - or travel in France - or the French language - or, indeed any aspect of French life or history.

To provide assistance to members of the British Library manuscripts department, their spouses or other companions in semi official or private travel which will benefit the Library.

OUR ACTIVITIES COMPRISE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH IN GEOLOGY IN EAST YORKSHIRE AND SURROUNDING AREAS, VIA LECTURES, FIELD TRIPS, OPEN DAYS, PUBLICATIONS AND WEBSITE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH LOCAL COUNCILS, MUSEUMS, EDUCATIONAL AND CONSERVATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. ALL AVAILABLE AND PROMOTED TO PUBLIC.

To advance the Christian Religion by promoting bellringing and the bells and installation at St Mary's Church, Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF BELLS AND TOWERS BY THE BELL RINGERS AND SUPPORTERS.

The objectives of the society are:- 1. To compile lists of the flora and fauna of the district, 2. To study the natural history, culture and history of the district, 3. To make a photographic record of the district, 4. To promote the conservation of the flora and fauna of the district. The society arranges lectures and field meetings, and publishes a monthly bulletin of its findings.

Produces annually a set of learned articles known as 'The Transactions Of The Unitarian Historical Society'. The transactions are widely distributed to historians, libraries and universities. The society meets every year for its annual general meeting and lecture. Members pay a subscription and attend the AGM. They receive a copy of the transactions in return for their subscriptions.

The charity's objectives are to promote the development of young persons in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, particularly by educating such persons in all aspects of the history and practice of seamanship and seafaring.

Archaeological Research

(A) To advance the study and science of ornithology and (B) Promote the conservation of local and national avifauna and flora and the study of other branches of natural history.

Restoration and preservation of historic buildings

The Art Fund is used to support the acquisition of items for the Museums Collections through purchase,transport, conservation and specialist assessment, initially in Wednesbury but more recently for the collections of Sandwell Council's Museum Services.

Makes grants for Church Bell Restorations, augmentations and new installations

The Society promotes the preservation and protection of sites, buildings, objects, documents and images that are considered by the Society, to be of significant interest and importance to the archaeology or history of Yeovil and its hinterland through education and information by holding meetings for lectures activities, discussion, fieldwork & research and undertaking a programme of publications.

To provide funds for the maintenance and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church at Thorndon, Suffolk and to assist with church running expenses.

The Friends of Bradford Cathedral exists to bring together in fellowship all those who care for the Cathedral, to support the Cathedral and its staff through prayers for its work, and through fund-raising for special projects as well as upkeep and maintenance.

Lydd Town Museum is a local heritage museum - it is curated and managed by the Friends of Lydd, a registered charity, established in 1979. As a heritage museum our aim & purpose is to share knowledge & information about the historic town of Lydd and the surrounding areas and to act as a hub for connecting the community via the museum. Entrance to the museum is free but donations are very welcome.

To utilise the income from these assets towards the maintenance and upkeep of St Peter and St Paul's Church, West Wittering.

Organise a programme of lectures on Cornish topics. Maintain a collection of documents, images and artefacts and exhibit these when possible. Respond to queries regarding the history of the town of Newquay and its environs. Maintain a photographic record of changes to the town. Participate in the activities of the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies. Organise social events for members.

The object of the Society shall be to provide the advancement of public education in the archaeology and local history of Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill and Loughton in the County of Essex, together with the surrounding area.
