The objectives of The Friends of Bencurtis Park is to assist with Bencurtis Park amenities, activities, the environment and services to older people.

Fundraising to assist school enrichment.

To raise funds to provide extra facilities for the pupils of Cotwall End Primary School. We provide funding for Education and Training purposes to enhance subjects being studied. We provide equipment for sport and recreation for the pupils and we provide volunteer manpower to help with school events and activities.

We hold religious services, collect monies for the charity "Hope for justice" and hold coffee mornings for the same. We help all in need especially the elderly (physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally & socially). We also hold services in residential homes. Our own transport is used to convey people who are unable to travel by bus to the services.

Grants are made to residents in Gospel Standard Bethesda Homes having difficulty in meeting the fees.

Providing a home for the Minister of the Church

Actively promote volunteering and provide transport from home to medical appointments etc, especially for the elderly or disabled. We run a coffee morning on Thursdays in Kesgrave Community Centre, and undertake coach outings to popular regional venues throughout the year. We have encouraged input from Suffolk Community Police and Suffolk User Forum

Within the Ecclesiastical Parish of Studley cash grants are paid to individuals and organisations to further the education and religious education of young people and for the relief of need generally in times of crisis. In support of their ancillary activities grants are paid to hospitals and homes for the elderly and the disabled. An annual maintenance grant is paid to the Parish Church.

To co-ordinate the work of Inner Wheel Clubs in district 14 in raising funds for home and overseas charities and providing service for those in need and fellowship to fellow members.

Various Fundraising activities including school fayres, school discos, surprise gifts

League for the period of 1.1.09 to 31.12.09, funded 48 concerts in the homes, give a Capita Grant of -ú25, so every resident received a Christmas present/party. In addition, in line with the Charity Commissions thought, we had a surplus of -ú3000 which we divided equally between the two trusts to re-fund, resulting in a wide variety of objects purchased for the benefit of the resident.

Furness Lions Club is one of several Lions Clubs based in Cumbria. We assist in our local community where in the opinion of our members and trustees help and support is required. As members of Lions Clubs International we contribute to their appeals both at home and overseas.

The restoration of the Willis Organ and the re-housing of the same in the Alexandra Palace or any public building erected on or at the site of the palace. The promotion of organ recitals and associated educational activities on the Alexandra Palace organ.

Relieving poverty and need by financially helping clients with grants towards education, work and housing especially where these are not met by current State benefits

In 1993, 3 parish councillors set up The Trust. It bought land immediately next to the village hall. It is held in perpetuity as a quiet recreation area for the people of Buckhorn Weston of all ages. Later the district council sold the council houses. Some proceeds were used for one-off windfall grants. We built play, picnic and ballgame areas on this land (with additions, now about 1 1/2 acres).

We issue vouchers to enable and encourage people to have their cats neutered, and we help with vet bills when owners are unable to fund full costs of urgent treatment for animals. We help support a network of local people who foster, rescue and home cats.

A) To advance the education of young members of the public in agriculture, home crafts, country life and related subjects. And B) In the interest of social welfare to provide and promote the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure.

Provides grants to talented youngsters with a special, dedicated interest in sport, art, music etc.

The provision of housing for the poor.

The Matthew Arnold School Parent Teacher Association (MAS PTA) raises funds to advance the educationof pupils in the Matthew Arnold School, Oxford. The PTA raises funds at school events such as quiz nights, concerts and school drama productions. Funds raised go back to the school to benefit the children and support the school community.
