The Charity was established by the Will of William Carr dated 25 August 1905 for the provision of a block of four houses as alsmshouses administered by the Trustees.

Providing Almshouse accomodation in four units for those in need, hardship or distress for the parishes of Hilborough, Ickburgh, Stanford, Lynford and Mundford, in Norfolk.

PROVISION OF ALMSHOUSES FOR POOR PERSONS WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OFBENTHAM AND CLOSE CONNECTIONS OF THOSE RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF BENTHAM.
