Housing Charities

Members meet together for talks and various social activities. We meet with other W I s within our District and/or Federation for social activities, talks, demonstrations, and workshops connected with subjects such as home economics, arts and crafts, sports and leisure, performing arts, science, health and social welfare.

The charity continues to give small donations to individuals residing in Biggleswade and donations to local institutions (e.g. the Sue Ryder Care Home nearby) which operate for the benefit of those who reside in Biggleswade.

VARIOUS FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES FOR OTHER CHARITIES E.G. CAFOD, THE HOMELESS ETC.

Youth Organisation for girls. Activities include Enjoying the Out of Doors, Exploring the Arts, Becoming a Home maker, Helping other People and keeping to a moral code

We provide fundraising activities to help support All Saints School additional educational/recreational activities.

The provision of and maintenance of a home for aged persons

Sick and poor of Westcott generally or any such sick, poor person in Westcott in following ways:-1.Supply of bedding, comforts, food, fuel medical or other aids. 2. Grants for benefit of such persons in need of rest, change of air or of obtaining domestic help. 3. Donation of money in aid of any convalescent home or other organisation established for the care and relief of sick, Westcott persons

Cregrina Mission is a chapel where Christian services are held. The gifts and collections are given to missionary societies at home and abroad.

The main purposes of the WI are to enable women who are interested in the issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to advance their education in citizenship, in music, drama and other cultural subjects, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare. It seeks to give to women the opportunity of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

General charitable purposes including assisting with medical,health and sickness. Disability, relief of poverty, accommodation and housing. Religious activities, environmental, conservation and heritage issues. Economicc,community development and employment

FOR THE BENEFIT OF SUCH CHARITABLE OBJECTS AT HOME AND ABROAD AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION FROM TIME TO TIME SELECT. HOWEVER, THE CHARITY IS PRIMARILY INVOLVED WITH LOCAL ORGANISATIONS.

The Charity restores and displays vintage vehicles from the local Municipal Transport Fleets. Provides free transport for other charities/organisations and educational faciities on site for local schools. Currently looking to provide a perminant home for its vehicles to display in a museum setting.

Repairs to accomodation of retired Minster's of the Wesleyan Reform Union of Churches their wives, widows,families who are in need.To make grants or loans for purchase of property by such Ministers their wives, widows and families in needTo subsidise rental payments bu such Ministers their wives, widows and families

The main purposes of the WI are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to improve and develop conditions of rural life, to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions both national and international, in music, drama and other cultural subjects and in all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home and economics.

Funds are raised with members of the association performing Hindu religious functions, mainly at people's homes. No fees are charged, but most people donate some money in appreciation. Other income from Building society interest.Donations were made to other worthwhile causes.

Charitable activities associated with the Penn & Widow Smith Almshouses

We are old students of a College of Education. At present we issue cheques to old students in need. We also help needy members in other ways eg visiting them at home or in hospital, sending gifts e.g. flowers.We make an annual donation to Parkside School, College Road, Norwich to assist in the provision of facilities, to advance the children's education, not required to be provided by the LEA.

The scheme provides transport for elderly, disabled and other disadvantaged persons with no private transport and no accessible public transport available to take them to hospitals, doctors, dentists, shopping and visiting partners in care homes.

Activities & events to advance the education of women for the public benefit in all areas including: issues of political & social importance; music, drama etc.; all branches of agriculture, craft, home economics, science, health and social welfare. To promote sustainable development for the public benefit. To advance health and citizenship for the public benefit. Monthly meetings in Wolsingham.

METROPOLITAN CARE CHARITY
