Management of Almshouse Charities

The Trustees make grants for the following:Research into IVF treatment.Medical treatment for the underprivileged which the NHS is unable to deliver.Relief of homelessness and the effects of old age.

Administers Almshouses in East Street, Newton Abbot.

a) financial aid to the Sisters of St Joseph and the Sisters of Notre Dame working with the poor in Peru. b) Financial aid to Contact, a residential project in Manchester for homeless young women. c) Assistance to disabled and disadvantaged members of the parish. d) Assistance to other charities whose activities are consistent with the objectives of Xspand.

Relief to persons in the Parish of Donyatt who are sick, ill or have suffered personal upheaval

The Foundation supports the needs of people with disabilities. It also has the power to assist their needy dependants. These objectives are fulfilled in practice by raising appeal funds for its two associated charities, the Papworth Trust and Enham Trust, both of which are concerned with the training, employment and housing of people with disabilities and their families.

To grant money to defray some expenses of rest or change of air (including transport and obtaining domestic help) for poor parishioners, church members and others in the area of St Stephen's Canonbury

Supporting children's homes and orphanages.

Donations of Christmas food parcels to elderly in the parish, plus donations to parish schools for books and a cash donation to local nursing home.

The preservation and promotion of art, culture and literature through workshops in classical temple music and dance, a handicraft project as part of a rehabilitation programme for homeless women, maintenance of archives and a library of relevant literature and an agricultural arts project. SAT works in conjunction with an Indian charitable trust.

Most of our funds are either raised through holding coffee mornings or donations. We then distribute to elderly people (residing in Woodstock) at Christmas, in the form of vouchers, e.g. Co-Op food vouchers. Occasionally we will make a donation to the local almshouses & elderly residential community sheltered housing.

Providing small grants from interest on capital funds to elderly & needy of the parish of Ilton; Whetstone's Almshouses are on a 99 year lease for a peppercorn rent to a housing association.

We provide telephone helpline; information; support: advice on medical, educational, housing and advocacy to members. We also provide some supported housing in adapted flats.

Lancaster Churches Together encourages churches in our area to worship, pray and reflect together, each church sharing with the others the treasures of its tradition. It enables churches to live and share the Gospel and to evangelise together and take steps towards fuller unity. We work together to respond to the needs of society working especially with the homeless of our city.

To provide heat, housing and food for the poor of the parish of Swindon (Cheltenham) and adjacent parishes.

The object of the association shall be to promote the health, safety and well-being of people in the community, whether at home, in the Community Hospital or ion Stone House care Home.
