Housing Charities

The Project was set up in 1981 by local people for local people to provide community facilities for disadvantaged groups living in the Calder Valley, Luddendenfoot and Todmorden of Calderdale. In addition to developing a number of local community initiatives and not-for-profit social enterprises, the Ground Floor project runs the Salem Community Resource Centre, housing 28 community groups.

The charity provides accomodation and grants to elderly, infirm and retired persons in Northamptonshire. The charity works with East Midlands Housing Association to provide accomodation for such persons at Abington Lodge.

The provision and maintenance of almshouses (the 5 Chafyn-Grove Cottages on New Road Zeals) their out buildings and grounds, for persons in need, who are members of the Church of England or as the Trustees shall decide.

The prime object of Ringwood United Charities is the provision of almshouses.

Maintenance of Perry and Dawes Almshouses and Chapel, together with care for its Residents. The Trustees shall apply income from Residents and investments to secure the necessary services, as well as maintaining reserve funds for emergencies.

Regular teaching and preaching of Bible truths are given at Woodfield Gospel Hall. Services are provided for all age groups. Visits to local schools and retirement homes made. Gifts made to Christian bodies in UK and abroad.

Provision of housing accommodation for the beneficiaries of the charity who are in need, hardship or distress as the trustees see fit.

The residents of the Almshouses shall be persons of not less than 55 years of age and must have resided within an area within 1 1/2 miles from St Marks Church at Low Moor.

The provision for aged persons in need of housing and any associated amenities specifically designed or adapted to meet the disabilities or needs of such persons.

The Charity provides housing for disabled ex-service personnel.The Trust houses are situated at Wick,near Pershore,Worcestershire.

Charity provides and maintains almshouses for people residing in the parish of Stogursey.

The Charity provides affordable homes for elderly people

The provision of self contained living accommodation in eight almshouses in the village of Barnwell.

To provide cheap and affordable housing for needy women and men (with low financial means) living in the counties of Devon and Cornwall.

10 Almshouses occupied by residents appointed by the Trustees. Applicants must have been resident in the Parish of Painswick for the preceding five years or have been a resident for 10 years at any time and be at least 60 years of age.

THE EIGHT SELF CONTAINED BED SITTING ROOMS, SEPARATE KITCHENS AND SHOWER ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SINGLE PEOPLE OVER THE AGE OF 60. A LARGE GARDEN SURROUNDS THE BUILDING, WITH A SUMMER HOUSE, ENABLING RESIDENTS TO PLANT THEIR OWN GARDENS TO THEIR DWELLINGS.

Provision of affordable accommodation for elderly people.

The charity maintains six almshouses in Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey. The houses are made available to elderly married couples, or single persons if no qualifying couple can be found, who meet criteria laid down in the Scheme of the Charity Commissioners made in 1994. Maintenance fees are charged at a level to cover long-term average costs of keeping the houses in good condition.

The Charity Commission has approved that income should be expended for the benefit of nurses and ex nurses of the Royal Free Hospital under the following headings:a) Educational needsb) Recuperative holidays for those in need of a change or who were unable to afford such holidays from thier own resourcesc) Those in need

The adminstration of six almshouses in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and two almshouses in St Ippolytts, Hertfordshire.

The purpose of the charity is to provide Almshouse accommodation for people who are in need and who live (or have lived) in the Borough of Medway, with preference given to those who have served in the Armed Forces and their dependents. Furthermore, the objects of the charity are such charitable purposes for the benefit of the residents as the trustee decides.
