Housing Charities

Swallowdale helps children and young people (under 25) who are in need and live in the Blackpool and Fylde area. This is through direct application or through other charities that work in a similar field.The aim is to supplement personal resources and make up for a deficit in state funding.Swallowdale prefers to assist named individuals or groups.

The charity is currently looking for a site on which to construct almshouses as it sold unsuitable dwellings in the mid 1990's. It does not have any almshouses at present.

Operation of Almshouse accommodation

To divide the income amoung charitable societies for animal welfare and for housing of persons in need.

Providing and maintaining accommodation for elderly persons.

Provision and maintenance of almshouses.

Maintain 8 units to provide housing accomodation for elderly people previously living within Codnor and surrounding district.

To provide affordable rented housing in Harton Town.

Dog Kennels - provides temporary homes and care for abandoned dogs and cats while new homes are found.

Provide accommodation for up to 10 elderly persons from Marlow and the surrounding area.

Congresbury War Memorial Hall is the home for the following:Memorial Hall Mixed and Teams,Monday and Thursday Badminton Teams,Zumba Classes,Bingo evening, Congresbury Singers Rehearsal sessions, Weston Brass Rehearsal Room,Social Club,Book Sale Location,Morris Men Rehearsal locationExercise ClassesStreetdance classes,Airmodellers meeting and flying practice

To carry out charitable work principally within the Borough of Trafford, and in particular, the advancement of education, the furtherance of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness and to promote support for charitable objectives where so ever they are located.

To maintain and manage 5 almshouses for qualifying residents of Stutton.

To provide an enjoyable social environment with ample support and transport from home to centre and return arranged. To provide a hot meal - main course and pudding and a variety of afternoon activities. Christmas party and Christmas meal arranged. Also at least two outings a year by coach and with a meal out to seaside or other places of interest.

To provide Day Centre facilities for the Elderly and Respite Care Service. Mondays/Wednesdays/Thursdays and Fridays are generally allocated to "home bound" elderly who are transported to the Club by either Council's transportation or Community buses/taxis.On Tuesdays the club is allocated to Respite Care and those club mobile members who wish to attend.

THE PROVISION OF FIVE ALMSHOUSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF ELDERLY LOCAL PEOPLE IN NEED.

We provide facilities for the members of the centre to partake in the purchase of alcohol and be entertained in various ways in the main club itself. We also provide satellite sites for the use of football and cricket and are home to fishing clubs, snooker clubs,organ society's and an over 60s club.

Providing accommodation in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire.

The charity gives women the opportunity of working together & to develop their education. Bursaries are given to attend Denman, the NFWI residential college where arts, crafts, sciences and home economics are taught. Weekly and monthly activities are enjoyed by members. Tai Chi, Country Dancing, Book Club, Drama are some of the activities in which we are involved.

The provision of holidays to women in need of a holiday by reason of age, poverty, infirmity, disablement or social or economic circumstances.

Reynolds Teaque Homes are a small group of 8 Alms houses providing accomodation for long term and elderly residents of Stow On The Wold and district with limited means. Residents pay a contribution towards the maintenance of the Alms houses as opposed to an economical rent. All repairs and improvements to the properties are carried out by the trustees.

Charitable purposes for the public as the Trustees shall think fit giving special consideration to charitable objects in Lincolnshire and considering overseas aid, the Fabric of Lincoln Cathedral, the Hospice Movement, the Cheshire Homes and considering charities involved with nature conservation and animal welfare in Lincolnshire. We over a lunch ( 2 courses) service three days a week Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10.30am - 2pm traditional meals all home cooked. Anyone over the age of 55 can attend members and non members are all welcomed. We also offer companionship where friendships are formed, warm space and general advice. We also run a Snooker club Weds, Sat mornings, and Bingo every Friday 2.15pm-4.15pm.
