Housing Charities

The charity gives grants to other charities or voluntary organisations to help to relieve the effects of poverty and homelessness. We do not give grants to individuals.

For the last 50 years we have been supporting primarily the Italian community as well as other ethnic communities in the city. We visit the sick (home/hospital). Our house is a place of prayer for those in need. We support Catholic Chaplaincy in prison as well as visiting people in work places and are involved in youth programs. We also support special projects in Africa & Brazil.

Provision of almshouses for the poor women of Stanmore

The charity runs a group of seven almshouses for elderly people.

John Sugars Almshouses are for widows aged fifty five years or over, who have lived in the parishes of All Saints South Lynn, or St. Margarets or St. Johns, King's Lynn, for three years.

Charity owners and operates an almshouse in Ivybridge on the outskirts of Plymouth City, Devon for the benefit of the elderly.

Provides grants for amenities to housing schemes belonging to English Churches Housing Group or for Baptist ministers or missionaries and their widows or widowers living in residential accommodation provided by a charitable organisation connected with the Baptist Union of Great Britain or with BMS World Mission

Alm's house providing housing for the elderly.

Provision of Housing for those of limited means of the Church of England resident in Devon with a preference given to Clergy, their wives/husbands and widows/widowers or if no suitable applicant to a poor person in Devon with a preference given to widows

Maintaining 1 house and 4 flats for letting to local residents who have financial need

Almshouse accommodation for people over the age of 60 years

To maintain six almshouse properties for our beneficiaries whose criteria include being over the age of 18 years, being connected to Little Baddow, Essex, and capable of independent living.

The income from the Trust is applied for the purpose of advancing the work of deaconesses and female deacons within the Diocese of St Albans under the guidance of the Lord Bishop of that Diocese.

Accommodation provision, maintenance of housing or holidays for poor ladies/gentleman of London. The prevention or relief of poverty. Trustees Do Not accept any unsolicited applications

'the establishment and maintenance of the Eventide Homes at Ketton aforesaid for the use and benefit of deserving persons of either sex who in their declining years are unable to provide themselves with a home . . . (such) homes to be occupied by old residents of Ketton aforesaid who may through ill health, adversity or misfortune be in reduced circumstances . . . '

As custodians of the Motor Tug Brocklebank on behalf of the Mersey Maritime Museum, the volunteers maintain this historic vessel in a mechanically and structurally sound and smart condition, all necessary insurances, surveys and dues being paid and bring credit to the museum when both in and away from her home port.

Provision of four houses for accommodation.

To provide homes for aged folk of modest means and the trust makes no grants

Provides housing for elderly (aged 55 or over) people in need.

Manage accommodation for single women in need

To provide almshouses for poor aged persons who are inhabitants of the ecclesiastical parish of St John The Evangelist ingrow with Hainworth near Keighley.

To provide accommodation for older people who are in need and who live in the Bradford and Harrogate area.

In addition to continuing to provide administration services to related charities and rented social housing, it has received a significant gift the larger part of which has designated towards property acquisition.

Provision of accommodation to persons of pensionable age. Maintenance and repair of said accommodation at Haycroft House, Meddon Street, Bideford - a block of six one bedroom flats
