Housing Charities

In 1914 the charity's founder Charles William Judson left a legacy in his will for the building of six almshouses in Ripon. The occupation is restricted to persons over 70 years with limited means. Residents must have lived within 5 miles of the City of Ripon for the ten years prior to appointment. The charity's aims are to maintain and improve the almshouses for the benefit of the residents.

Fund-raising and assisting those in need at home and abroad.

Provision of housing for poor persons born or lately resident in King's Cliffe, Northants.

Maintenance and repair of the fabric of the Parish Church of Watlington

Thorpe Prebend acts as a Heritage Centre for the Cathedral and houses exhibits which unveil the Story of Ripon and the Cathedral over the centuries.Schools use the house for educational visits.Local organisations hold lectures in Thorpe Prebend on historic events.

Provide and promote the facilities for recreation and other leisure time activities which will assist in their development and individual responsibilities so that they may grow to full maturity as individual and members of the community.

A) To advance the education of young members of the public in agriculture, home crafts, country life and related subjects. and B) In the interest of social welfare to provide and promote the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure.

Housing of aged, needy people

THE BRADFORD SOUP RUN OFFERS FOOD, CLOTHING, BEDDING AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE HOMELESS IN BRADFORD.

Provides housing accommadation for ladies aged 50 or over of limited means

St Albans & Dacorum Day Hospice is part of Rennie Grove Hospice Care providing 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home service as well as a range of day services for patients and families in Herts .

1. Provision of Almshouse accommodation in Lavenham.2. Provision of Grants to the needy of the village.

The donation of food, drinks & gifts to old peoples residential & care homes in B-ham & Leamington Spa. Free distribution of ayurvedic medicines by Dr Baba Ajit Singh Ji sending parcels of unwanted items of clothing to India for distribution amongst the poor & needy. The arrangement of marriages for the poor. The relief of povery-Free kitchen, financial & other forms of assistance for the needy.

To assist full paying members of the Fed (National Federation of Retail Newsagents ) with support during times of convalescence following an operation, illness or hospital visit in accordance with the guidelines contained within the Fed rules book.applications are made by Members applying to the Benefits committee who decide on the claim and grant a cash amount to the member.

To save by all means possible the lives of as many animals as possible by providing food, shelter and veterinary attention and to find homes for as many animals as possible.

The object of the charity is to hold and maintain the Almshouses in Bardney belonging to the charity for the residence of almspeople.

Providing and Maintaining Almshouses in Watford for persons in need over the age of fifty years.

To provide housing for long time residents of Silsden.

Provision of Almshouse accommodation for the elderly, who are capable of living independently, in self-contained flats.

We look after 6 almshouses which are primarily available to people over 55 years of age who live within the four parishes surrounding Grayrigg or who have a connection with those parishes. In exceptional circumstances the almshouses are available to people who live outside the area of benefit and who have no connection with the parishes.

The charity supports the work of Capital Church Cardiff. This includes providing regular public worship services, home-based study groups and social activities. Support is given to an organisation helping street sex workers in Cardiff. There are friendship and project links with churches in South Wales, Ghana, Guyana and Kenya.

Provide accommodation for over 55 years of age.
