Leisure Charities That specialise in Gardening

The aims of the Trust are:1) to assist former members of Wye College who are in need,2) to assist people who have taken a course at the Wye campus to undertake postgraduate studies,3) to support education and research in agriculture, horticulture and the rural environment.

A village hall providing the only public meeting place for the community along with various clubs and societies in Manley Village - Bowling Club, Tennis Club, Flower arranging, Country Dancing,Fitness Classes,Upholstery Classes, Gardening Club, Snooker and Billiards etc. Also available for private hire for parties, weddings,funerals, meetings, exhibitions and courses etc.

Langton Herring Village Hall provides a centre for all residents to meet, socialise and exercise. It offers a suitable location for the various village clubs from Table tennis, Art, Choir, Gardening and Talks on a regular basis. It is also a regular meeting place for external groups including the Parish Council and occasional visits from the local MP.

Maintenance of the Village Hall and a gradual upgrading of its fabric and facilities in order to provide good quality accomodation for use by group activities including gardening clubs, toddlers clubs, womens clubs, whist drives, sewing & patchwork, yoga, Over 60 club, birthday parties etc.

Playgroup, scouts, gardening club, short mat bowls, mother and toddler group, childrens and adults parties

Student grants given towards cost of books etc.Donations given to : , Crake Valley Friendship Club, , Greenodd Horticultural Society .

We are a voluntary Community Association. We maintain premises for social and community activities for all ages eg Social Events, Quizzes, Illustrated Talks, Film shows, Family workshops, Coffee Mornings, Gardening club, Summer Fun Days. We also welcome a local Special Needs School to use the open space and sports courts, and we support local charities.

All activities associated with parish halls-hiring hall to local organisations eg, Tuesday club, gardening club, hobbies group, also fund raising events.

The Trust organises fund-raising projects such as raffles, social events, 200 Club and sponsored walks.Money raised is invested in specialist charity funds.Funds are used to help people in the agricultural and horticultural media in financial difficulties through illness or job loss and those needing training for new skills.

The Parish Hall provides facilities for members from the local community & surrounding areas to meet for the benefit of both educational & social purposes. There is a wide range of activities carried out including Art classes, dog training , mother & toddler group, gardening club, clock repairing.

Providing the village hall and its facilities for use by various organisations within the village. Those include Parish Council, Playgroup, W.I., Old Catton Society, Horticultural Society, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides , Yoga and fitness group.

Arranging money making events to cover the running costs of the village hall. Holding classes and being a centre for village participators ie W.I., Gardening Club etc.

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides run from our HQ. Hall & facilities hired to different groups, eg dancing and gardening plus functions for the community of Goring.

TO ENCOURAGE AND EXTEND CULTIVATION OF DELPHINIUMS AMONG MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC; TO COLLECT AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION UPON ALL MATTERS CONCERNING DELPHINIUMS AND PROVIDE AND ORGANISE LECTURES, HOLD EXHIBITIONS, VISITS AND OUTINGS TO PLACES OF HORTICULTURAL INTEREST FOR MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

The Hall is used for the benefit of the village. All village associations use the Hall, Youth Club, Scouts, Playtime, Bowls, Art, WI, Zumba, Pilates, Martial Arts, Theatrical Society, Gardening Association, History Society. Parish Council meetings are also held in the Hall, together with National Associations because of the Hall's geographical position.

Promoting, assisting, training and recreation through classes, recreational activities, meetings and entertainment for inhabitants of the parish and immediate vacinity. Hire hall, to join groups - WI, bowls, gardening, wine, keep fit, cricket, made available for parish meetings, polling stations. Run fund raising events for maintenance & development of the hall actively pursued grants to enable us

Activities include camping, visits, sailing, water sports, bowling, hillwalking, learning about cooking, and gardening, and taking part in various fund-raising activities.

The Housing, Care and maintenance of the Wolseley collection. The provision and arrangement in the wolseley room, or elsewhere of lectures, talks etc on subjects of argiculture and horticulture, garden design, history of places and lands in sussex and the history of old agricultural customs. Purchase of books, letters, maps etc and other objects of interest to be added to the wolseley collection.

The promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public and the cultivation and study of the decorative and fine arts for the benefit of the public through the provision of lecture meetings, outside visits and study days.

A Good Neighbourhood scheme helping in a range of activities those who are either permanently or temporarily unable to undertake aspects of everyday life. Principally providing transport for medical reasons, shopping and visiting, as well as assisting people with gardening, walking dogs, simple DIY, people sitting, paperwork and other similar tasks.

The village hall serves a mainly rural community. Currently a mens club, WI, gardening club, pre-school, carpet bowls, whist drives, bingo sessions, film nights, singing group; the hall is also used for monthly coffee mornings, quizzes, parish council monthly meetings and for various church functions. There is an annual pantomime and occasional village celebrations.

To bring relief to anyone in the local Harpenden community who is in need - either by offering assistance from local sources or by putting the person in touch with an appropriate specialised welfare service. Direct help is offered in the form of transport for people who are unable to use public transport or responding to any request for "good neighbour" help e.g. shopping, gardening, or company.
