1st Magor Scouts exist to develop the skills and abilities of young people in the Magor area of South Monmouthshire. The scout troop provides practical training and activities to develop the mental and physical capacity of the young people. Activities under taken in the last year have included climbing, camping, sailing, swimming and cooking.

Provides a place to socialise , exchange information and integrate within the Deaf Community and learn British Sign Language . Groups - Chess , Snooker , Church , OAP , Social Club and Golf Society and Indoors Game are available for members to join .

Generally the promotion of the principles and objectives of the Scout movement with emphasis on water-based training and activities for all young people.Water-based activities include sailing, swimming, water safetyLand-based activities include camping, survival skills, health and safety, good citizenship

The objective is to provide friendship, education and leisure activities without distinction of political, religious or ethnic opinions in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Makes grants using income from trust fund:- (A) Principally to support Christ's Hospital pupils who otherwise would be unable to afford participation in cultural, career-development or sporting trips for which they have been selected and which would be beneficial; (B) Advancement of education in any other manner the trustees may think fit.

Scouting activities for children aged 6-18 years. Weekly meetings, hiking and camping. Visits to places of interest.

to advance education and to provide facillities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and liesure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants lynton and lynmouth and surrounding parishes

Community events: Christmas Party, Fun Run, Hog Roast, Theme Parties, Yoga and weddings We have several events in view for next year.

Offers the opportunity for children between the ages of 10 and 18 to take part in activities mainly with a nautical theme, ranging from football to sailing to cookery. The Sea Cadets also offer BTEC and GNVQ's

Venue for meetings, drop-in centre for villagers,drama group, quiz nights, children's parties and entertainment for the community.

Provision of a Village Hall for the residents of Uckington and Elmstone Hardwicke for the purpose of social meetings and fund raising events. It is also available for hire for dancing and Yoga classes, Women's Institute, Church meetings, as well as private hire.

General maintenance and management of community hall

Village hall meeting place for various groups - eg - Book Club, Village Lottery, Table Tennis, Pool Club, Whist Drive, Plant Sale. The hall is also hired out throughout the year for private meeting space and small events and gatheringsThe committee organises regular activities and events throughout the year such as Film nights,Talks, Duck Race, Summer BBQ, Harvest Lunch, Christmas Party

We offer a wide range of activities including camping, climbing, hiking, spirital, community service and many other activities.

To encourage children from the ages of 6 to 18 to work together as a team and to help in their community as well as within their sections.To also enjoy outdoor activities such as Kayaking, camping, bivvying, rifle shooting all with trained instructors.

Offering 9 to 17 year olds life-changing nautical adventure based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. Opportunities include Rowing, Sailing, Power-boating, Kayaking, Adventurous Training, Seamanship,Cooking, Team-building and many more.

Organising inter school sports competitions and district teams

Provide various recreational facilities for the Meanwood community and premises to hold various functions, tasks etc (capacity 40 to 60 people). Provide biannual events for our senior citizens, comprising afternoon tea and entertainment and transport. Provide monies to deserving individuals ie missionary and to other charities as sanctioned by the committee.

Raising funds to promote activities for young people such as Youth speaks debates ,disabled sports and R.Y.L.A courses.Also arranging events for our senior citizens including christmas day lunch for those otherwise alone.Also responding to individual requests for support from needy persons.

Operation of a Bowling Club.

We have social meetings every Thursday evening at Chickenley Community Centre, Chickenley, Dewsbury from 6pm to 8.30pm and swimming sessions every Tuesday at Batley Baths from 7 - 8pm. We arrange outings and have an annual outing to various places within a suitable travel distance with a meal afterwards. We hold events during the year as well as Xmas parties and Birthday parites.

THE CHARITY PROVIDES FREE SPORT AND RECREATION FOR ALL WHO WISH TO PARTAKE. THE SPORTS INCLUDE RUGBY, FOOTBALL, CROWN GREEN BOWLING AND ANGLING. THE CHARITY HAS A BRASS BAND, THERE IS AN OVER FIFTIES CLUB WHICH HAS FREE USE OF THE PREMISES EVERY MONDAY AND THE CLUB PROVIDES BINGO ON FOUR DAYS OF THE WEEK.THE AGES OF PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE ACTIVITIES RANGE FROM 4YRS TO LATE EIGHTIES. Provision and maintenance of village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Vowchurch & Turnastone for meetings, lecturesclasses and other form of recreational purposes.
