Leisure Charities

Operates a centre with a range of services for 16 user groups. These range from young people's drama and dance groups, older peoples keep fit classes and groups for disabled people. The move to the newly built centre was made in May 2012. The Trust have worked with Open Art in bringing various art forms to the local community.

Advance the Islamic religion through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures and Islamic education.Advance education for young people by the provision of teaching about the Islamic faith, including Maths and English homework classes. Help young people through leisure time activities, to develop their capabilities that they may grow to full maturity as responsible citizens.The relief of poverty.

The Officers' Mess is to fund from available investment income, bar profits and members subscriptions, expenditure on the core items of formal functions, sport and support to certain charities. These include notional income "services in kind", grants, mess improvements, functions and maintenance.

FULL SIZE SPORTS HALL FOR HIRE, CONFERENCE ROOM TO SIT 20-25 PEOPLE, SMALL ROOM AVAILABLE TO SIT 6-8 PEOPLE, FITNESS SUITE ONSITE.CAFE OPEN DAILY BETWEEN 9AM - 1.30PM. OVER 60 LUNCHEON CLUB.

The main aim is to promote sailing, making it accessible to all. Students follow the RYA syllabus to gain certification. Bursaries available for local students upon application. First Aid, Power Boat & Safety Boat courses held. Several local young students progress through the Sea School to become RYA qualified Instructors going on to train others.

We are an after school and holiday club, we collect form four local primary schools in are area. we also run ever school holiday . we also run a junior club activity term time once a week. we work along side the local authority offering opportunities for better inclusive play.Through are groups we offer trips, residentials local visit and sport, we also try and provide workshops.

The Haven Centre is a venue for the local community. It is multi-purpose including the Haven Cafe and Bar which is open to all, rooms for hire for group meetings and special events, Haven Theatre Company, and home to the local Football Club. Many different activities and clubs are available for children and adults through to a social lunch group for the over seventies.

The charity provides and maintains a sports ground and children's play facility. The premises include a sports hall, scout hall, nursery and the sports and community club. The facilities are designed for sports clubs but are also available for informal public recreation when not in use by the clubs. Friends of Windmill Gardens open the Grade II* listed Brixton Windmill, providing guided tours and delivering education workshops to schools and local people. We maintain and help improve Windmill Gardens for the enjoyment and recreation of local residents. In partnership with Lambeth Council we manage the Windmill Centre delivering services for windmill visitors and our local community.

SVA owns and maintains Staveley Village Hall and Institute, 4 allotments, the Recreation Ground, its Pavilion and Children's Playground for the benefit of the residents of the parishes of Over Staveley, Nether Staveley and Hugill. The Hall, Institute and Pavilion are available for hire. The Recreation Ground and Children's playground are open to the public free of charge for non-commercial use.

The trust is held by the Trustee upon trust to apply the same (at the direction of the Council) either as capital or income for the purpose of providing recreational facilities for the physical education and development of persons who are from time to time Resident Junior Members of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The activities of the charity are to promote education of children, young persons and the general purblic and to improve the quality of life of all such persons by providing basketball and other sporting and recreation facilities for the community of the Furness Peninsula areas of Cumbria.
