Leisure Charities

The hall is used by various local groups as a venue for meetings and activities including badminton, exercise class, Garden and Film Clubs and Parish Council The Hall is also used as a venue for private parties, wedding receptions, funeral teas, children's parties and as a polling station. The hall is used by people of all ages from the village and surrounding areas.

We offer a wide variety of activities to our young people, in all our sections - from craftwork to camping and outdoor pursuits with the aim of developing skills for life . The young people are encouraged to learn new skills, have fun with their fellow scouts, both within the group & the wider scouting community, and to raise money for charity, for supporting the group and other local initiatives.

The Village Hall Committee is responsible for the land it owns in Trust i.e. the village hall and surrounding grounds, the Calor Field, and the Rugby Club Field plus the organisation of social activities and events.

Provides indoor and outdoor educational and adventure opportunities for its members, in the tradition of the scout movement.

To provide for the benefit of inhabitants of Washington Village and neighbourhood without distinction of sex, race or of political or other opinions access to a variety of social, educational and leisure activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants and secure the establishment of a community centre.

Administers and maintains Recreation Ground, Childrens Play Area and Pavilion building

To provide accommodation for the purpose of education,training and social activities for people of all ages and backgrounds and facilities as a general meeting hall for all village activities.The main activities being - Gardening Association, Social Clubs, Village History Association, private parties and general meeting hall for Whilton residents and their visitors

To commemorate the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the district during the war 1939 - 1945 whose names appear on the plaque erected in the Memorial Hall.We maintain and run the Memorial Hall to provide facilities for the local community to encourage the provision of education, social welfare, recreation and leisure activities.

TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE IN KINTBURY ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES SO TO DEVELOP THEIR PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SPIRITUAL CAPACITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY.

Basildon Hospital Radio provide an entertainment and information service to the patients, staff and visitors to the hospital. Most of our programmes are music based with our daily request shows and our weekly programme aimed at the hospital staff being the most popular. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and broadcast 24 hours per day with both live and computer-controlled programmes.

The provision and maintenance of a village hall without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for meetings, lectures and courses and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.

Provision of community facilities for use by local clubs and organisations.We Maintain the Rimington Memorial Institute for the use by village organisations e.g. Bowling club , Table Tennis club , Snooker Club , W.I. and hold social events e.g. bands , talks to raise funds to maintain the building .

The Association manages a community centre providing many and varied activities for people of all ages and disabilities in the local community in the promotion of health and fitness, art and crafts, and social events including general charitable purposes.

Trust document states the hall be run for the benefit of the local community. Local bodies including Parish council, local agricultural show, tennis, football & cricket club hold meetings and fundraising events. There is a book cafe and Kidz club. The hall is let for yoga, pilates, art classes, etc and other social occasions. A side room is let on a permanent basis to a wedding photographer.

WE OPERATE A LOCAL ANNUAL AGRICULTURAL AND HORTICULTURAL SHOW.

The Recreation Ground is for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Peasedown St John without distinction of political, religious or other opinion, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.Alongside a large area of open space, there is a children's play area; a skate park; a BMX track and also a football pitch with associated changing rooms and buildings.

OPERATIONS ARE LARGELY OF A FUNDRAISING NATURE, WITH EVENTS ORGANISED FOR THE SCHOLCHILDREN OF PLUMPTON SCHOOL, THEIR PARENTS, THE STAFF AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. TYPICAL EVENTS INCLUDE VILLAGE JUMBLE SALES, A CHRISTMAS FAYRE, A SPRING BALL, AN END-OF-TERM BARBECUE, AFTER-SCHOOL SWIMMING CLUBS, AFTER-SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT CLUBS, QUIZZES, SCHOOL CALENDARS, AND AD-HOC EVENTS.

We fund raise by organising sales, entertainment or collections in the street

We provide sports and recreational activities i.e. bowling green activities and offer our clubhouse as a facility for group meetings and functions in the village.

To provide sport and recreational facilities for the elderly and old people living in and around the Medway area using facilities which are fully maintained for the stated purpose.

Provides buildings/facilities/open space for sport/recreation, all for the public benefit.

National award scheme (UK) to practically help and encourage people aged 50+ to engage in volunteering and community development, learning activities, the arts, heritage & culture, sports and conservation open to people from all kinds of backgrounds and circumstances, especially those with ongoing health and mobility problems.

Premises are available to rent for regular group activities,pilates,folk dance,playgroup,childrens parties and social community events only where there is no alcohol. We encourage groups who run keep-fit activities, dance and children's activities

We do not provide any financial assistance - only provide the building & facilities for local organisations etc to use. As there are no other shops/pub/school in the village the hall is the 'hub' of the community & used for many functions including W.I., childrens parties, karate, bowls etc. We are an 'emergency base' for the parish councils new emergency plan (storing generator/food/lighting/blan
