Norton-in-the-Moors Miners Welfare provides facilities and open space for community groups from a wide catchment area within Stoke on Trent. Based in Smallthorne and working in co-operation with local stakeholders such as the City Council, the Charity provides extensive support for people of all ages with particular emphasis on the young and the elderly.

Supporting historically disadvantaged individuals (from Africa and Latin America) to pursue careers in the mining industry through educational scholarships.

St Swithun's P C C has the responsibility of cooperating with our Vicar in promoting within the parish the whole mission of the Church; pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. TO HELP CLERGY WIDOWS AND RETIRED CLERGY IN CASES OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, PARTICULARLY WITH HOUSING COSTS. SOCIAL EVENTS ARE HELD AND THE SERVICES OF A DIOCESAN OFFICER AND VISITORS ARE PROVIDED.

The charity's duties and obligations are set out in the Parochial Church Councils (Powers) Measure 1956 (as amended). We aim to Educate people about mining at Nenthead and in the North Pennines by researching, restoring, maintaining, owning and exploring the historic and natural features relating to mining,quarrying and smelting. We guide people into an old lead and zinc mine, carry out maintenance of the ancient monument, hold an archive of documents and have a collection of mining artefacts.

The Congregation runs various parishes. trains future priests, maintains and supports missions abroad.

The charity has been established to provide for the maintenance of a Welfare Institute and sporting facility for recreation and leisure time occupation. The charity assists in maintaining subsidiary organisation for carry out the objects of the charity. Both the Institute premises and the sports facility are available for hire in accordance with the standard hiring agreement.

The PCC of the Parish of Birchwood and Woolston, have the responsibility, of cooperating with the Vicar of the Parish or visiting clergy whilst in an Interregnum, of promoting in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. The Mildred Trust : Creating equality of opportunity for people in rural communities in and around the Tenterden area, especially but not exclusively for people experiencing food insecurity.

The charity helps to run a church offering regular Christian services of worship and teaching. We help run a residential school for poor children who would not otherwise be able to receive an education. We relieve sickness and preserve health, facilitating health care by professional Drs, therapists & nurses at hospitals in India. We relieve financial hardship by providing grants to the destitute.

Grant making

The Oliver Heaton Trust exists to to further such religious purposes in the THE PARISH OF SS PHILIP & JAMES WITH ST MARGARET IN THE CITY OF OXFORD as the Vicar and Churchwardens of the said parish shall in their absolute discretion think fit.The Trust provide funds for those purposes and administers the Oliver Heaton Bequest.

Provision of facilities for School and University teachers to run one-day or two-day field courses that will introduce young people to subjects relevant to the minerals industry such as applied geology, metalliferous mining and mineral extraction.

The society was founded in 1691 and recieved its Royal Charter in 1794. The society contributes towards training and religious instruction for clergy and laity of Anglican dioceses in the West Indies and the Indian Ocean.
