Professions Charities

The Charity provides help to the sick or disabled who are in financial need. Grants may be made to purchase among other items, equipment, special clothing, help with energy bills and respite care. Support is also given to the Community Nurses by providing help with training courses, books and special equipment not normally funded by the NHS.

Grants for the benefit of individuals generally on application by Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers and Voluntary Organisations when statutory provision cannot be used.Activity is restricted to helping people who live within a 7 mile radius from the centre of Reading who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

Providing funds for employment of staff at Moulton Parish Church - Associate Vicar (part time), Youth and Children's Minister, Assistant Youth and Children's Minister and Assistant Youth Worker at St Peter's and Paul's Church, Moulton.

Easington Social Welfare Centre is the main community facility in the former mining settlement of Easington Colliery. As a registered Charity this building is run and managed to meets the needs of local people who have suffered much hardship since the closure of the mines in the 1990's. The centre provides a much needed resource for its community to use.

The charity's sole activity at present is to provide support for retired clergy.

Promotion of health, the relief of poverty, advancement of training and social and recreational activities, provision of convalescence for the relief of sickness of beneficiaries.

The Retired Clergy and Dependants Fund provides for the relief of poverty by assisting retired Church of England clergy, licensed lay workers or deserted spouses of clergy who reside or served in the Diocese of Carlisle and their dependants. It makes grants to assist with the costs of moving when clergy retire and provides support throughout the year but in particular at Christmas.

Sports & Recreation

Operating throughout the Choppington Parish, the Welfare provides sporting, social and community facilities. With three pitches and a multi user games area, the Welfare acts as a sporting hub for the wider community and provides expert coaching for cricket, football & bowls.Open on a daily basis and run entirely by volunteers we provide a home for many local voluntary organisations and clubs.

To provide a social welfare centre and recreation grounds for the use of its beneficiaries with the object of improving the conditions of life for the benficiaries. This is done via the provision of sporting, recreational and social facilities.

The charity provides aid to former district nurses employed in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland whom through age, ill health, accident or infirmity are unable to maintain themselves, and also to provide relief to those persons resident in the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland who are sick, convalesent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

Support the development of health & education at Rock of Joy Childrens Centre,Lungujja and other associated schools in Uganda. Make one-off grants to the schools for equipment & materials & provide regular monthly funding which provides school meals, teacher support & other resources. Developed a health project employing a School Nurse who provides education,prevention & treatment.

Social activities for local people and families in the communities of Renishaw and Spinkhill including support for local football teams, golf sections, fishing club and children's entertainment IE parties at Christmas/easter/Halloween with help & support to local seniors outings/day trips

Support for retired Anglican clergy and partners

The relief of need, hardship and distress among clergy and licensed lay workers who reside or serve (or have resided or served) in the Diocese of York and among dependant relatives or those who have served as housekeepers to those named above.

Principal Activity - The principal activity is the management of the seven almshouses in Balaams Lane, Southgate - the site manager occupying one unit.Management - Is vested in a Board of Trustees, the Vicars of Christ Church, Southgate and of St Andrews Church, Southgate are ex-officio Trustees.

Provides financial assistance to clergy of the Church of England forced to retire early owing to ill-health. Widows, widowers and dependants can also apply for assistance.

The relief of financial hardship among people by providing such persons with goods or services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means. To support charities established for the benefit of police officers and police staff throughout the United Kingdom.

The building continues to be used by outside organisations and the local clergy as well as the regular functions of a place of worship. A number of social events for members of the local community have also been held.We continue to support missionary and relief organisations both nationally and internationally.

The activities of the charity are to promote an institute and recreational facilities for local inhabitants comprising of Social Club, Football, Bowls and Croquet.

Upbeat is an independent charity set up by ex-cardiac patients. We provide support for people who have had heart attacks, or other heart related problems, and their carers. A range of specialist exercise sessions are held weekly under the supervision of qualified cardiac instructors and a cardiac nurse. Social and educational events are also provided.

The London Network of Nurses and Midwives Homelessness Group (LNNM) works to improve health care for all patients experiencing homelessness or otherwise excluded by providing a forum for the sharing of best practice and knowledge, and skills within homeless and inclusion healthcare and supporting staff working in this area.
