CLINICAL RESEARCH INTO ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES

The aim of the charity is to encourage, assist and extend the academic and research activities of all members of the medical and dental professions practising within the area of Colchester and North East Essex

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music and in particular choral music by the presentation of public concerts.

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC BUT PARTICULARLY MEDICAL AND SURGICAL PROFESSIONALS IN THE SCIENCE AND PRACTICE OF SURGERY BY PROMOTING AND ENCOURAGING THE STUDY OF AND RESEARCH INTO SURGERY AND PAYING OR CONTRIBUTING TO EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES RELATED TO SURGERY NOT PROVIDED BY THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE.

Education and training. Awarding grants for clinical staff to attend courses which will increase their qualifications, or improve their medical understanding, or to attend conferences and training periods. Research. Providing funding towards research projects and helping staff attend specialist conferences worldwide to increase their knowledge and share their expertise.

Religious Activities Provides Church Services and a Christian Science Reading Room

Holding Church Services, Meetings and Lectures on Christian Science.Running a Reading Room and Resource Centre where the Bible and Christian Science literature can be read, borrowed or purchased.All these activities are open to the public.

For the advancement of underwater exploration, discovery of safety health and science and for other kindred purposes.

The Mendip Nature Research Committee, is a self-governing body. Its objectives are to advance education by the study and research of the flora, fauna, geology, archaeology, speleology and allied sciences principally on Mendip, and to pursue other activities outside the scientific sphere, as may be determined and promoted by the MNRC.

The choir exists to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in the appreciation of the art and science of music through the public presentation of concerts and recitals.

Church Services are held on Sunday Mornings and every 2nd and 4th Wednesday Evenings. .Sunday School is held on Sunday Mornings for young people.Reading Room is where people can find out about Christian Science during the week.Lectures about Christian Science are given in the community. Other events occur sometimes.All activities are open to the community.

The Society organises an annual series of lectures, usually held in Leicester New Walk Museum, for the advancement of education in Literature, Science and the Arts. It publishes proceedings and supports the museum. Natural History and Geology Sections organise further events. The Society has close links with Leicester, De Montfort and Loughborough universities and Leicester City Council.

THE PRESENTATION OF PUBLIC CONCERTS AND RECITALS IN ORDER TO ADVANCE, IMPROVE, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC EDUCATION IN, AND APPRECIATION OF, THE ART AND SCIENCE OF MUSIC.

To make grants for the furtherance of education by supporting scientific projects aimed at improving knowledge of demographic and health-related problems worldwide, and especially in developing countries.
