The main purpose of the WI organisation is to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life including arts, crafts and sciences to improve and develope conditions of rural life. The Society, under its Constitution, promtes, improves, develops and maintains public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Society through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

The aim of the North British Functional Analysis Seminar is the encouragement of study and research of functional analysis and its connections to other areas of mathematics.

The charity is established for the benefit of the public through the encouragement of and promotion of numismatic science in all its aspects.

The Nansen Hill Recreation Ground is a Site of Special Scientific Interest which features valuable chalk downland. It is one of the best viewpoints on the Isle of Wight. The charity exists to manage this area.

The objects of the charity are the advancement of the education and training of graduates in medicine,related arts and sciences,the promotion of medical research and the publication of the results of such research.The charity runs lunchtime meetings,full day education courses and clinical examinations at appropriate levels for both undergraduate and postgraduate doctors.

Support of a restored industrial heritage working museum at the site of the Lion Salt Works in Marston, Northwich, which was the last working open pan salt works in the UK and is now a scheduled monument. Also education by the interpretation of the history of the site and former proprietors, the heritage of salt making in Cheshire and elsewhere, the science of salt and related products.

The John Campbell Trust makes small grants to students of Information Science and to information professionals, to support projects or travel which will benefit the individuals and the profession.

The objects of the charity are advancement of education in the art and science of musicians and in particular to 1) provide specialist tuition and performance for young musicians in the field of authentic performance practice; and 2) to provide bursaries to assist in the purchase of instruments for young musicians. All are undertaken to further our charitable purposes for the public benefit.
