Arts Charities That specialise in Opera

Educate youth between the ages of 12 years and 19 years on the 1st of September in the dramatic and operatic arts to further the development of the public appreciation and taste in the said arts. To enable the youths to appear on a professional stage and to perform in front of the general public

Performing musical theatre for the enjoyment of the company as well as the local community.

Presentation and promotion of the arts to the public, particularly the young. The main emphasis is on the operatic arts and chamber opera.

"To entertain the public in the musical theatre arts and to provide a safe, enjoyable environment for people to pursue musical theatre as a hobby".

We provide the opportunity for members to take part in musical theatre productions either on or off stage, thus bringing high quality, affordable shows to the public in and around Hereford. We run a successful Youth section, which performs its own shows and also offers the opportunity for its members to participate in main company shows, when there are suitable parts (e.g. "Annie"; "Oliver!")

The object of the Society is to educate the public in the dramatic and performing arts to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts to assist and further such charitable institutions and charitable purposes as the Committee shall from time to time determine.

Participating in the performing arts

Promoting public interest in and knowledge of the works of W S Gilbert & Arthur Sullivan and in the dramatic and operatic arts.

To provide musical/show entertainment

We aim to mount at least two musical productions per year. Acting roles are open to anyone and are decided following auditions. We also offer on the job training in lighting, sound and other backstage jobs

Dereham Theatre Company is an active amateur theatre group. We own a Studio where we rehearse and hold Committee meetings. We have both adult members (acting and non acting) and youth members (acting). We perform to local audiences in Dereham Memorial Hall. Each year we look to put on a minimum of one musical and a pantomime. Preferably also performing a play, concert and/or second musical.

The object of the society is to educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts, to further the development of public appreciation and role in the said arts. To do so, the society promotes plays, comedies, operas, operettas, concerts and other dramatic & operatic works of educational value. Recent productions include "Follies" and "Half A Sixpence" ~ 2013 is our 110th Anniversary Year.

Financial assistance towards the running costs of Opera North, by organising opera talks, concerts and recitals and by publicising opera events in the region.

Minimum 1 show per year plus other social events to raise funds.

West Lane Baptist Church provides an area for regular worship, and an active Sunday School. Additional activities the Church supports are monthly Drop- ins,Youth Group,Film Cafes. The church is open to the church family and the local community for a variety of regular events: Operatic Society,Bronte Society meetings and events,Parish Council meetings,exercise classes, Film Club and social events.

Producing musicals for the public of Stourbridge and surrounding area. To assist, educate and encourage young people to perform and enjoy the dramatic and operatic arts.

Operatic Society

To provide entertainment for the local community.To raise funds to assist other charities.To educate members, especially the youth section, in all aspects of stage craft.

The society exists to present all types of entertainment which are suitable for audiences. Each year we present shows (5) and plays (3) together with shows we bring in to help with our finances. The theatre is used also by learning difficulty groups , local dance schools and our own youth group.( 35 children)

To produce and perform annual Musical Stage Productions in local theatres. Those performing are all volunteers, although the Production team, (i.e. Producer, Choreographer and Musical Director) and all members of the orchestra are paid.
