Padmaloka is a UK Buddhist retreat centre for men and hosts retreats exploring Buddhism, Buddhist Meditation and study. The retreat centre is part of the Triratna Buddhist Order (Formerly Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO)), a worldwide movement founded by Sangharakshita that aims to make Buddhist teachings and practices available in a form appropriate and accessible to the modern world.

The purpose of the Friends of Tewkesbury Abbey is to assist in maintaining the fabric of the Abbey, and adorning it and preserving it, together with its furnishings, vestments and ornaments, for posterity.

Raising funds to be used for the benefit of patients in our hospitals. This is done through retail outlets, a shop and a teabar at St Helier hospital. There is also a yearly raffle draw.

The Friends provide funds to supplement or enhance the resources of both hospitals for the benefit of patients and staff. This is achieved by operating a profitable, efficient Hospital Shop and Ward Trolley Service Additional funds are raised from legacies, by fund raisung activities and by a group of members who pay for life membership of ?50 or an Annual Subscription of ?10.

THE FRIENDS OF NORWICH CATHEDRAL EXISTS FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF THE HISTORIC FABRIC OF THE CATHEDRAL, AND TO PROVIDE FINANCIALLY FOR SPECIFIC NEW PROJECTS WITHIN THE CATHEDRAL PREMISES. The Friends' aim is to assist in promoting the health, comfort and welfare of the patients, their visitors and the staff of the East Surrey Hospital by the provision of equipment, medical and otherwise, and amenities, by running a coffee shop in the Hospital and generally by supporting the charitable work of the Hospital.

We run a rural Buddhist Retreat Centre, offering residential retreats on Buddhist meditation and Buddhist teaching. We also run weekends and courses in city based Buddhist Centres on request. Local schools ask us to talk to their pupils about Buddhism and some come to us for an weekend experience of retreat living. Our main teachers are all ordained Buddhists with the Triratna Community.

The North London Buddhist Centre offers courses and classes in Meditation, Buddhism, Yoga and other activities to promote health, happiness and well-being. Its aim is to develop a Buddhist practice community in the city relevant to our lives in the 21st Century.It is part of an international network of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, which has over 80 centres world-wide.

Grants of money to The Yeatman Hospital, Sherborne, to improve hospital facilities and provide benefits to patients: redecoration, supplementary equipment and furniture, garden provision and maintenance, newspapers for patients, flowers, drinks machines, television services, supplementary therapies.

The Friends of Salisbury Cathedral exists to support the Chapter of Salisbury Cathedral, through its objects in the Constitution. To do this we collect members subscriptions, receive donations, bequests and legacies and, out of these, make grants to the Cathedral. We come together in a common fellowship of loyalty and devotion to care for the Cathedral.

The Charity supports the sick and the poor mainly at St Francis Hospital, Katete in Zambia as well as other projects within the Eastern Province of Zambia

Durham Cathedral forms part of a world heritage site. The Friends were set up in 1933 solely to help to maintain and enhance the building and its setting; and over the last ten years grants totalling over -ú1,000,000 have been made, membership is open to all who appreciate the cathedral either as a place of worship or as an architectural gem, and donations and legacies are also welcomed.

WE OFFER CLASSES IN MEDITATION AND BUDDHISM BOTH FOR BUDDHISTS AND NON-BUDDHISTS, IN A WAY THAT IS RELEVANT TO CONTEMPORARY WESTERN LIFE. WE OFFER TRAINING FOR BUDDHIST ORDINATION, FOR THOSE WHO ASK FOR IT, AS WELL AS APPLICATIONS OF THE BUDDHA'S TEACHING TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL. THE CENTRE IS OPEN TO ALL. WE WELCOME SCHOOL GROUPS.
