As part of the Scout Association, we support the activities of Scout Groups and Units in the part of Kent generally known as the Weald.

To advance the education and development of members of Scouting and Guiding groups, or similar, based in Hampton-in-Arden and to promote their physical, mental and spiritual development so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and so that their conditions of life may be improved.

THE OBJECTIVES OF 54th PORTSMOUTH SCOUT GROUP ARE AS A UNIT OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION. THE PURPOSE OF THE SCOUTING IS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL,INTELLECTUAL,SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL POTENTIALS, AS INDIVIDUALS, AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS AND AS MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. The South West Nottinghamshire Scout District supports Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Groups across Broxtowe District to encourage the young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we support our members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.

The Group have 1 Beavers section, 1 Cub Scout section & 1 Scout section.In summary the aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people's physical, intellectual, social & spiritual potentials.This is achieved by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.
