Enabling women to make new friendships, have fun, learn new skills and take part in wide-ranging activities in a relaxed and supportive environment.Encourage women to become more involved in issues that matter to them and their community.

Educating women and enabling them to build new skills and take part in a wide range of activities. Also to take part in nationwide campaigns that are relevant to them and their communities.

Our WI looks after the interests of its members and is affiliated to the Cumbria County federation and the National federation.

The main purpose of the womens institute organisation is to enable women who are interested in rural issues to improve and develop conditions of rural life; to advance their education in citizenship, cultural subjects, sports and all branches of agriculture, handicrafts, home economics, health & social welfare and uphold WI ideals.

Activities involve a monthly meeting which provides an opportunity for educational and social pastimes, a forum for discussions and an opportunity to supply friendly support when needed.Further afield there are ample opportunities within the national organisation for an even wider range of sport, travel, competition and exhibition.

Monthly meeting with informative speakers on variety of subjects. Annual educational outing, New Year meal and support for chosen annual charity

Monthly meetings featuring various local speakers, education & training arranged through the W.I. Federation.

Art Club, Knitting Group, Luncheon Club, Walking Activities

Womens group for companionship, education and debating current issues.

Educational activities for women living in and around the village of Leeds to benefit them and the wider community.

We meet each month and generally have a speaker on many topics, refreshments and a socialget together, we organise walks, trips and many other activities
