To grant pensions to spinsters and widowed ladies of not less than 40 years of age as the Trustees select for this purpose and to assist such poor girls who are preparing for, entering or engaged in any trade, occupation or profession by the provision of tools, books, payment of fees, travelling expenses or such other means which will fit them to earn their own living or advance them in life.

The Brandwood Trust makes charitable donations to members of the 6th Battalion The Royal Warwickshire Regiment, widows or dependants who are in need. The charity also provides donations members of the successor units of 6th Battalion The Royal Warwickshire Regiment ,the present being known as A Company 5th Bn The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers who are in need or as agreed by the trustees.

The Colnbrook Town House Trust was originally set up by a Thomas Pitt, on 3rd April 1657, to help the poor and needy. Over the years the property was sold off. We now support the old and needy and widows who live between the bridges at Park Street and the Western limit of Colnbrook excluding Moreland Avenue and Drift Way, also up to Crown Meadow, Moreland Avenue and Drift Way with ad-hoc grants.

To provide accommodation in two small almshouse bungalows in Bengeo, Hertford, for widows who at the time of application are resident in the ancient parish of Bengeo.

The charity applies the income of the trust fund for the benefit of past, present and future employees, dependants, widow(er)s and orphans of Merrick and Heath Ltd. The charity awards grants to charitable institutions and individuals. The trust manager reviews applications for grants when received and the trustee awards grants at its discretion.

We collect money from mainly within our membership, by circulation of a regular charity box, raffles and charity evenings. This money is used to support local charities and needy causes. Some of this money is also given to our Grand Charity for donation around the world to disaster areas for instance (Tsunami being one). We also support the needy widows of our past members and those in distress

The benevolent fund is maintained by the voluntary contribution of members of the Hon. Soc. of Masters and is employed for the assistance of its members and their widows and orphans, if they are in necessitous circumstances.

MONEY FROM INVESTMENTS AND LAND RENTAL IS DISBURSED WITHIN THE PARISH OF GRAINTHORPE. RECIPIENTS ARE ELDERLY PEOPLE AND WIDOWS AT CHRISTMAS; THE PARENTS OF CHILDREN TRANSFERRING AT 11 TO SECONDARY SCHOOL; AND NEW MOTHERS. Makes grants to (1) widows, widowers divorced partners and children of Church of England clergy who have held or currently hold livings, curacies or chaplaincies in the county of Shropshire and (2) those C of E clergy, their widows or divorced partners, widowers and their children who have retired and face financial hardship living in the county of Shropshire
