To grant pensions to spinsters and widowed ladies of not less than 40 years of age as the Trustees select for this purpose and to assist such poor girls who are preparing for, entering or engaged in any trade, occupation or profession by the provision of tools, books, payment of fees, travelling expenses or such other means which will fit them to earn their own living or advance them in life

The object of the Fund is to relieve poverty amongst persons of European birth who are or have been members of the planting community of Sri Lanka and their dependant relatives in need, restricted to the wives, widows and dependant children of such persons.

To deal with any call for finacial assistance from any poor and distressed member, their wives, widows, children and dependants for the relief of their suffering or maintenance or the benefit of Masonic Charities or other Charitable Institutions

The Charity makes bi-annual Dole Distributions (Good Friday and St. Thomas's Day) from its annual land rents and income from investments to residents living in the Parish of Fleet Hargate aged over 60 years of age who have been resident in the Parish for over 10 years. The charity continues to distribute the funds to the widows of the Parishes. At Christmas and on when becoming widowed funding is given to the widows.

Annual distribution of funds to the elderly parishoners and widows of Therfield and to deserving cases. Income derived from rentals of land endowed to the charity.

RELIEF OF SUCH POOR AND DISTRESED BROTHER MASONS OR OTHER POOR AND DISTRESSED WIDOWS AND CHILDREN OR TO OR FOR THE BENEFIT OF SUCH MASONIC CHARITIES OR OTHER CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS, SOCIETIES AND OBJECTS AS THE LODGE SHALL IN DULY CONSTITUED MEETING FROM TIME TO TIME DIRECT.

The objects of the charity are the relief of poor and distressed Masons and their widows and children and the benefits of Masonic and other charitable institutions.

Grants made to poor clergymen, their widows and children living in the ancient deanery of Braughing or the archdeaconry of St Albans as defined in 1747.

Provides a small grant at Christmas time to ladies of the village of Freckenham that are over 60 years old and who are widowed or whose husband has retired.
