Barnsley Bereavement Support Services offers free confidential help from appropriately trained volunteers to those who cannot come to terms with their bereavement. It is available to all those who live in the Barnsley District.

We provide a weekly meeting programme and operate the J.A. Jones Hoober Observatory where we run a Community Access Programme. We also undertake outreach visits to school and community groups.

To treat injured hedgehogs and wherever possible release them back into the wild. To care for those hedgehogs that cannot be released.To educate both children and adults about hedgehogs and their environment.

A Barnsley based charity, to provide aid to individuals diagnosed with cancer in the form of complimentary therapy, holidays, wigs,utility bills and shopping vouchers for families who have limited income due to their cancer diagnosis.

36th Barnsley (Ardsley) Air Scout Group is part of The Scout Association. The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Advance religion in accordance with the doctrines of the Church of England by providing short religious education courses, so that those attending might review their Christian commitment and practice Christian principles in everyday life, thus helping others to discover and achieve a Christian way of life. Providing ongoing support to members and encouraging them to be active in their parishes.

Promote research into centres for cures of brain tumours & research into survivorship programmes? Offer support to children/young adults living with the effects of a brain tumour during and after treatment

Organisation of fund-raising events, primarily a Xmas & summer raffle, carol concert, sports day & Easy Fundraising resources. Funds raised in 2023/24 provide classroom materials & resources. Support children with in-school activities & give them all Christmas parties and panto. New starters and Y6 leavers receive gifts & Easter eggs were also provided. During the past year, the charity maintained active contacts with the ethnic minority groups & supported them in various ways. As charity itself in financial crisis no such help could be provided to other groups to enhance the potentiality of the youths. Facilities in training in indian arts, music, drama & basic computer provided together with healthcare, cultural & religious festivals.

Weekly Luncheon Club with health talks, games, translated information from service providers, act as a link between local authorities and members.

THE PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE OF THE CHARITY IS THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND HARDSHIP AND IN PARTICULAR THE RELIEF OF YOUNG CHILDREN AND THE VULNERABLE. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY THE PAYMENT OF DONATIONS TO THOSE CONSIDERED WORTHY.

1) To promote the craft of woodturning for the public benefit and in doing so raise the appreciation of the creativity, skill and heritage of woodturning.2) To advance the education of the public in the craft and skill of woodturning.
