The Museum holds the chattels and archives The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire and its antecedents. The Museum is at 3 Tower Street, York YO19SB and is open Tue-Sun 1000 - 1630 hrs. It has a superb collection of medals, silver, paintings, weapons and uniforms from the 1685 to the present day. The archives are open by appointment (01904 461018) for people to research.

The society seeks to further knowledge regarding local architectural and archaeological heritage, by promoting relevant lectures and visits. In addition it provides advice and limited financial assistance for architectural conservation and archaeological exploration. Grants towards the publication of architectural and archaeological papers may be made.

To raise money for the fabric of St Helens Church, Escrick.

Educating the public in the history and heritage of the inland waterways of Yorkshire by:- a) preserving vessels and artifacts which illustrate and explain the history and heritage of the waterways; b) providing the public with access to the waterways for the purpose of education; and c) undertaking research into the waterways and publishing the results for the public benefit.

This charity operates within the parish boundary of St. Andrew's Church, Bishopthorpe, YORK.The aims are to help elderly people in need of financial help and support widowers.The charity distributes a small cash grant prior to Christmas.

The charity promotes education in history and the arts relating to the City of York. It makes grants or loans to secure the publication of information relating to York's history and promotes public lectures. It holds an essay competition and offers a university history prize. York People First actively pursues its objectives by providing training and promoting advocacy. We work in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.We have worked with a wide range of groups and organisations.

Edible York supports public gardens for growing vegetables, fruit and herbs, with produce available for anyone to pick. Each Autumn EY organises Abundance to pick and distribute fruit.The charity holds regular events for anyone as an individual or member of a gardening group, such as talks, workshops and visits.The trustees provide information and mentoring to new gardening groups.

The Society organises an annual Music Festival of mostly competitive classes held in 3 or 4 venues in the seaside town of Hornsea over a period of either 3 or 4 days. It is held during the first week of July. Fund raising social events such as Coffee Mornings and Garden Parties may be held at other times throughout the year.
