THE CHARITY HAS BEEN FOUNDED TO PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF ARTS, HERITAGE AND CULTURE TO ALL THOSE WORKING OR VISITING THE NORTH WEST OF ENGLAND BY PROVIDING INFORMATION AND RAISING AWARENESS OF THE HERITAGE AND CULTURE OF THE REGION THROUGH EVENTS, ART INSTALLATIONS AND PERFORMANCE.

The Charity supports the school to purchase goods and arrange activities which enhance the pupils education and learning environment.

To coordinate and gather resources for the Victoria County History of Cumbria project, a collaborative community project created to research and write the histories of all parts of Cumbria, and to make historical information generally available, within the framework and standards of the Victoria County History of England.

PROVIDES A WARM, WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT WITH QUALITY FACILITIES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND IN DOING SO ALLOWS OUR COMMUNITY USERS TO FLOURISH

Funds historical and archaeological research with grants to volunteer groups, schools, museums and academic/professional researchers. Operates a website with accessible heritage information. Support local historical societies in studying the historical environment. Holds study days, lectures and visits. Publishes a respected annual journal, plus books and other publications.

Jack's Journey supports Cumbrian families who have received a cancer diagnosis and are currently, or have recently finished, cancer treatment. This is through financial grant making, but also through smaller gifts to aid their time in hospital.In addition, Jack's Journey provides holiday accommodation for families from across the north who are currently, or recently finished, cancer treatment.

Contributions ?3000 to a new stone built bus shelter, ?1000 to disabled access to village hall, ?200 eradicating Japanese knot weed, Himalayan balsam volunteers, ?500 to Jubilee Fund.?200 to Allotments, ?250 Flood Group storage shed, ?1,000 climbing frame for playarea. Produce village newsletter. Litter picking, lobbying on planning and environment. Maintain amenities e.g. seats, 4 bus shelters.

Borderline's objectives are to offer general counselling to the community and provide pastoral care and counselling training.

Provision of equipment to a range of charities in the West Cumbria area. We do not support sports, the arts, animal charities and do not give cash grants or running expenses.

Services delivered:- Community Shop; Credit Union collection point; bingo, community activities, weekly lunch service, children's activities, printing, copying and ICT access and support for local residents. We provide valuable signposting for local residents, venue and room hire as a source of income, as well as co-coordinating trips and local celebration events for the estate.

The RSPCA Cumbria North and East Branch is an unincorporated charity and separately registered branch of the RSPCA carrying out direct animal welfare in the area of North East Cumbria.The branches welfare work helps people in need to care for their animals by providing welfare assistance and treatment for their animals as well a supporting the local inspectorate in the Cumbria Area.

Religious Activities

We provide courses and activities for all members of our community, without exception, and particularly those who are socially, mentally, or otherwise disadvantaged.We also hire out our facilities to other organisations and individuals, who provide activities for the benefit of the local community.

Great Cross Trust owns and manages the letting of eleven houses in the village of Grasmere, Cumbria.

Cumbria Sports Academy provides sports facilities that can be hired out by the general public and clubs. These include an athletics track and equipment catering for training and meetings. Grass pitches for football and rugby and an Astro Turf. We can also accommodate meetings and conference's for business and the general public.

Supporting Scouting in Kentdale District of South East Cumbria.

The hall is used for community functions, operating as a community hub with use by: Skelton village school, local youth, adult and senior groups, meetings, classes etc, as well as a polling station. Its activities include keep fit, theatre, dances, school, church and social gatherings and suppers and is available for private hire for social events. Open to all ages, abilities and ethnicities.

The charity provides access to nursery education in a rural area. Trained and qualified early years practitioners work with children to support them in achieving the early learning goals for the seven areas of learning and development within the EYFS. Staffing ratios that are required by law are adhered to. The opportunities are tailored to meet children's personal learning and development needs.

Provide a variety of activities, workshops, day trips for children and young people who have Autism. Have themed parties and craft workshops, visit museums etc to aid the education for our group members. Day trips in and out of Cumbria as some members have never been out of Cumbria, this helps give experiences of what other things are available for families with children on the Autistic Spectrum.

The Trust owns the listed grade 2* Eskdale Mill at Boot in Eskdale, the last working water corn mill in the Lake District National Park. The Mill is open to the public at least 5 days a week from April to end of October, and at other times by contact with the Mill Manager, Ms Kate Hughes

The promotion and practice of the Christian faith by organising regular meetings for worship, teaching, community support, evangelism and prayer and by supporting other organisations who share similar aims. These objects will be carried out primarily in Bentham and surrounding areas.
