Providing advice, animal welfare and rehoming assistance for animals in need in the branch area. Provide kennelling and care for animals which are considered to have a welfare need and which usually come to us via the RSPCA Inspectorate. Provide financial assistance towards neutering and veterinary treatment through a voucher system for members of the public who are on certain specified benefit.

Provision of a hall for the leisure and education of residents and visitors to the valley

The Village Hall Committee Charity provides a community service by maintaining the village hall for the use of local groups including elderly, youth groups, sports & health groups. Money raising events meet some of the costs of upkeep.

Generating income to provide financial support for Lakeland Arts at its Abbot Hall site in Kendal, Cumbria.

We resource community led projects in places where there is poverty creating need, lack of opportunity and suffering. We can provide grants that will create sustainable improvements focussing on Homes, Health and Education. These can be grants to organisations or individuals.

Information service giving advice and support on any disability related issue to people with disabilities, their families and carers. A large proportion of the work involves assisting people to complete welfare benefit forms. Drop In Centre for physically disabled adults and their carers, providing social and learning opportunities.

YFC has 15 Clubs in North Cumbria.

Assist the Governors of the Keswick School. Promoting and supporting the education of children attending Keswick School.

The provision of a hall for the residents of St. Bees Parish to pursue their interests, for meetings etc, and to encourage charitable activities which will enhance the St. Bees area.

The Objects of the CIO are:to advance the Christian faith; to relieve persons who are in conditions of need or hardship or who are aged or sick and to relieve the distress caused thereby, and to promote and fulfil such other charitable purposes beneficial to the community, in the County of Cumbria and in other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the Trustees may think fit.

Primarily the charity runs an annual shoebox appeal, collecting and sending in the region of 10,000 gift filled shoeboxes to Romania. It also holds various fundraising events to fund the same, and administers a child sponsorship scheme which helps the children who receive the shoeboxes to access education.

To run the charity shop in the centre of Shap and our weekly lunch service which attracts local residents for lunch and socialising.To advance charitable purpose in the civil parishes of Shap and Shap rural as the trustees see fit, through the provision of grants and other assistance,

We run a multi activity community centre. We house the local community Police team and Community library , Army Cadets, Dance Tazia and other groups including alternative educational lessons. . A Spiritualist church meet weekly, film and lunch clubs for the elderly use the centre regularly as well as children's parties. Community groups attend the centre for activities/training and meetings.
