Provision of village hall facilities for the community to use for sports, recreational, educational, health and meetings. Current activities include Karate, Judo, Kendal Model Railway Club, Judo, Theatrical shows and Woodturning Club.The Hall offers space for business meetings and private parties, and is licenced and can provide a bar. Wi-Fi enabled and an induction loop in the Main Hall.

Operation of a community centre, which provides clubs, groups and a community cafe.

The Village Hall Committee Charity provides a community service by maintaining the village hall for the use of local groups including elderly, youth groups, sports & health groups. Money raising events meet some of the costs of upkeep.

Dobies Charitable Trust supports organisations which enhance the quality of life for communities in Cumbria. For example, local sports teams, health support charities, carnivals etc. The areas which are favoured are those that help disadvantaged families or children.The trust does not support national charities or individuals, unless there is a specifc benefit to the Cumbrian people.

The Scout Association promotes the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local national and international communities, by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership.

Scouting

We fundraise to maintain this five acre site with provision of new challenging play equipment. This community play area known locally as Fairhill benefits many people in and around Alston as well as visitors on the moor. Currently we are fund-raising to develop a new pump track cycling facility.

To provide amenities for patients and staff of "The Mary Hewetson Hospital, Keswick".

The charity's Object is the advancement of education and religion by the organisation and provision of chorister courses. The main activity is the administration of the Morland Choristers' Camp, a week-long 100-strong residential course primarily intended for boys and girls aged 9-17 who are members of church or school choirs.

Nursery, sports activities and community focussed activities for the Belah Ward

To further the education of children attending Sedbergh School. To award scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries for those who are attending Sedbergh School who are in need of financial assistance. To award grants to those who are attending Sedbergh School to enable them to travel (UK or abroad) in furtherance of their education. To otherwise further the education of such persons.

The Charity will be expanding the services already provided to the Community from its base in Warcop Parish Hall.

The trustees' focus is upon fostering education that is compatible with Roman Catholic teaching through financial assistance provided for the management, promotion and upkeep of St Peter's International College. The trustees are currently considering other plans that would be compatible with the trust's objects and hope to take these to fruition during the current and next financial year.

The promotion of steps to improve the breed of stock and encourage home inudustries, improvement to tillage, the management of grasslands and other rural affairs, to organise, promote, manage and conduct for charitable purposes only Agrucultural Shows and exhibitions of all kinds.

This charity has been established to support young people who are in residential care by providing advice, support and therapy and helping them make the transition to independent living by supporting them in finding work experience and training.

To provide services for the advancement of religion by the preaching of the word of God and for the Christian growth in Grace and Fellowship.

Provision of grants, equipment and services for the patients of the Caldbeck Surgery and others in the locality.

The charity provides and hosts social, leisure and health promoting activities. These include coffee mornings, weekly lunches, community breakfasts, an annual village show, keep fit classes, yoga, film nights, history and archaeology society, and various other clubs and societies. The facilities we provide are a village hall, swimming pools and car park.

Our Village Hall provides space for a wide range of activities for the people of Penruddock and district. The hall is 110 years old next year. It occupies a central position in the village. We have gained four grants and two legacies this year to continue the plan of improvements. This will form the remit of the Management Trustees looking ahead into 2015.
