The charity supports new & existing ways of encouraging young people with severe learning difficulties to access to the maximum of their potential, all that other people can. These include sport, drama, and outward bound activities as well as accessing educational & health programmes that are not provided by local authorities.

Youth Group

Heversham Parish Council hold The Athenaeum on trust as and for a public hall for the inhabitants of the Parish of Heversham without distinction of political, religious or other opinions including use for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation with the objectof improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.

Management of the People's Hall for use by members of the town and by societies and clubs; for parties, for functions, for exhibitions, for meetings, for theatre and film shows.

Museum Operation & Other Charitable Purposes

WE PROVIDE FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES FOR RESIDENTS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THESE INCLUDE, FITNESS CLASSES, CHILDRENS ACTIVITIES, ART CLASS, LUNCH CLUB, LIBRARY LINK AND MUCH MORE. THE CENTRE OPERATES AS A WARM HUB AND WE ALSO RUN A FOODBANK 2 DAYS PER WEEK .WE HOLD FUNDRAISING EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. AND HOLD ANNUAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS PLAYSCHEMES AND CHRISTMAS PANTO.

Boxing Club based in West Cumbria for children and adults from disadvantaged groups and deprived areas.

Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

Football, Cricket, Tennis, Sports Days, Local and County Fairs, Outdoor Pursuits, Team Building and Events.

Recording sessions and production of new CD, Sponsored sing, charity concert performances,Fundraising etc.

To support by donations individuals for specific purposes which fall within the objects of the charity and to support organisations which cater for such individuals

To benefit the inhabitants of the Ancient Parish of Holme Cultram as the Trustees think fit. The organisations vary but include, village halls, churches, schools and Residential Care Homes.

The Haffner Orchestra is a very good amateur concert orchestra, normally giving three public concerts a year in Lancaster.

A new charity to support young people (aged 12 to 25) in South Cumbria. Wave Forward works with young people, secondary schools, charities, and other partners, to create a therapeutic support programme, run campaigns/events and provide training to raise awareness and understanding of mental ill-health

To help educate young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical and mental capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and their conditions of life may improve by the provision of outdoor pursuits at education centers in the North of England and Scottish Borders.

The charity provides almshouse accommodation for local elderly people of little financial means

Provides accommodation in accordance with the provisions of the Dawson Trust

MAKE GRANTS TO ORGANISATIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHILDREN/YOUNG PEOPLE, ELDERLY/OLD PEOPLE, FOR THE PURPOSE OF RELIEVING DISABILITY, SICKNESS AND POVERTY AND FOR APPROPRIATE PROJECTS IN THOSE FIELDS.

The Village Hall serves the village of Lazonby and surrounding district in the Eden Valley in Cumbria and provides a hub for community events, meetings, sports and private functions. In addition, two sub-committees provide extra activities and facilities: Lazonby Village Hall Snooker Club and Lazonby Village Hall's Eden Valley Players, which provides opportunities for amateur dramatics.

Education and entertainment of the public in the arts, primarily through the medium of film.Weekly screenings Sept - April, Film Festival in Feb, screenings in local village halls.

In West Cumbria, operates a Link between the communities of West Cumbria (UK) and Rungwe (Tanzania), through exchange visits, education and awareness events, and supporting educational and community projects in Rungwe.
