To provide an opportunity for young people to develop, to learn and to enjoy themselves by offering a diverse, fun and educational programme of activities planned by members for members.

Red squirrel conservation in South Cumbria and North Lancashire, including removing threats to their survival and public education in the need for urgent action to prevent their extinction.

We run a Community Workshop in Alston, in the North Pennines. This is equipped with tools for a range of craft and making activities and supported by experienced volunteers. The workshop is a shared facility, to be used by a variety of activity groups. These groups aim to meet some of our charitable and social aims and include a Men's Shed group, a Repair Cafe, and workshop sessions open to all.

This is a Service User and Carer Mental Health Wellbeing Renovation Project to help Service Users rebuild self confidence; self esteem and develop new skills to equip them to enable them to get back into the job market. When completed it will provide a multi-purpose venue to generate income to enable the charity to fulfil its objects and provide a drop-in, jobs, training and activities for all.

The Mary Hannah Almshouses owns six almshouses properties, which are managed on its behalf by H&H land and Estates.

The Langton Adventure Centre is to help young people through their leisure time activities so to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and as members of society.

Charity object is the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants & visitors to Shap by the provision of a pool.In accordance with our objective, the charities additional aims are to support the people of Shap & the surrounding area by retaining existing services, promoting health & wellbeing in the community & encouraging equality & diversity.

WYO provides weekly term-time training in orchestral playing and the presentation of public concerts for young people under the age of 19, who are ordinarily resident in the former county of Westmorland.

The North East Trust for Aphasia supports people in the North East who have aphasia. Aphasia is a communication problem, often following stroke, which can affect an adult's ability to speak, read, write and understand other people. It can have devastating effects on peoples' lifes. NETA has set up a Support Centre for people with aphasia which offers support via communication and project groups.

The Beck Community Centre provides a facility for multiple user groups of all ages in the South East area of Kendal , where no other such facility exists. These include Groups for babies, childminders,uniformed groups, senior citizens, Church, modern dance,ballet, keep fit , groups with disabilities,U3A groups, coffee mornings, charity fundraisers and the capacity for hire by local residents

Local Cumbrian choir doing local concerts and also concerts on regular tours (currently alternate years) to other regions of the country. The Choir includes young members (typically around school-leaving age) who are supported by our choral scholarship scheme.

School activities

The Trustees welcome requests for Grants from registered charities operating in North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Provide a variety of activities, workshops, day trips for children and young people who have Autism. Have themed parties and craft workshops, visit museums etc to aid the education for our group members. Day trips in and out of Cumbria as some members have never been out of Cumbria, this helps give experiences of what other things are available for families with children on the Autistic Spectrum.

The advancement of the Christian faith in Rwanda for support for the Church and Christian organisations in Evangilism and mission proclaiming and living out the Gospel.This will be through prayer links, financial and practical support with an emphasis on equipping Chrisitans in Rwanda for effective service within the Church and wider community.

THE CHARITY PROVIDES FINANCIAL OR OTHER ASSISTANCE TO YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 AND 25 WHO RESIDE IN THE COUNTIES OF MERSEYSIDE, LANCASHIRE OR CUMBRIA TO ENABLE THEM TO SECURE EDUCATION OR TRAINING WITH A VIEW TO GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT OR SELF-EMPLOYMENT.

Promote and support any exclusively charitable purposes or objects in the United Kingdom or any other part of the world as the Trustees in their discretion think fit. The settlor had expressed a wish that the Trustees shall have regard to charitable causes and objects in the North West of England. A number of specific Charities receive grants each year
