Families Matter is a counselling and support service. We aim to promote emotional well being, improve mental health, and reduce the impact of poverty in the Furness and South Lakes area by providing a professional counselling service for children, young people and their families who find it difficult to pay because they are on statutory benefits, are low-waged or unwaged.

Provide support & information to individuals & families in South Cumbria, suffering distress arising from: The death of a baby before, after birth or through childhood; life-limiting or threatening illness of a baby or child; infertility, & facing difficult decision relating to pregnancy. To support children & young people up to age 18 who are grieving due to the death of someone close to them.

The promotion of classical music concerts in Keswick together with giving assistance and encouragement in the development of an interest among the young people of the area in listening to, learning about, and performing music.

Public performance of choral music

Producing entertainment while ensuring that people learn theatre skills. Learning all aspects of live theatre while socialising and confidence building. Helping people to work in the community while learning new skills.

To assist with the payment of veterinary costs to persons on low incomes and/or benefits. To make contributions to other animal care charities at the discretion of the trustees.

Providing education and short courses for mostly retired or semi retired adults.

A model engineering society based at Cinderbarrow Picnic site at Yealand Redmayne, Carnforth, Lancashire where run a Miniature Railway that is open to the public for rides on Sundays from spring to autumn. We aim to develop a interest in engineering in miniature by our activities.

Provide financial help to people under the age of 25 years who reside in the civil parish of Mungrisdale towards the cost of education and training.

Running and caring for the village hall which is an essential part of life in this rural community. Regular fund raising is organised and social events such as the recent Jubilee celebrations.

MAINTENANCE OF STAINTON RECREATION HALL

Our aim, and that of the Scout Association, is to help young people achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as Members of their local, national and international communities.

Amateur dramatics- The Society's annual production in2017 was "The Wizard of Oz" The AGM was held in the Pennington Memorial Church Room, Kendal on the 19th March 2018. The death of Susan Scott-Stephenson was reported and Audrey Ireland was unable to continue as a Trustee . The remaining Trustees were re-elected. The Accounts for the year ended 31st January 2018 were presented and accepted

The propagation of the Christian Faith as detailed in the Bible. We meet for weekly Bible study and conduct regular Sunday services which are open for all to attend. Emphasis is always given as to how the Bible is relevant to all areas of day to day living, physically and spiritually. Friendship with people in the community is paramount.

Gosforth Public Hall is run by a voluntary elected Council of Management for the benefit of the villagers of Gosforth Cumbria and the surrounding area

Playing brdge and encouraging the development of bridge playing in the Kendal area

The provision of recreational facilities for the village of Kirkby in Furness.The Community Centre is located on a 5 acre site, providing pitches for cricket, football, bowling and a Multi Use Games Area with tennis courts, netball courts, a basketball court and a five a side football pitch. The site also provides a childrens playground, public toilets and an informal recreational space.

Upper Eden Linking Lives is a befriending service aimed at adults who are experiencing loneliness or find themselves requiring some extra friendship and support, and this is provided through weekly home visits or telephone calls. We match volunteers with those who are referred to us and all volunteers are carefully selected, trained, and vetted.

The Charity manages Ashmeadow Woodlands in the village of Arnside. It comprises of mixed woodland, orchards, a walled garden and allotments. It is open to the public and has a number of footpaths with seats and interpretation boards. When finances permit the Charity offers grants to local groups, or individuals, for anything that will further the aims of the Charity.
