Running and caring for the village hall which is an essential part of life in this rural community. Regular fund raising is organised and social events such as the recent Jubilee celebrations.

Provision of public hall space to all

Provision of a public hall and meeting rooms.

Around 8 social events held each year for parishioners and their friends. Several education classes including music, art & history. Hall can be hired for a range of activities including parish council meetings, art exhibitions, private parties. The main aims of these activities are to maintain and develop this historic building as a focal point for all members of the community.

The Charity manages Ashmeadow Woodlands in the village of Arnside. It comprises of mixed woodland, orchards, a walled garden and allotments. It is open to the public and has a number of footpaths with seats and interpretation boards. When finances permit the Charity offers grants to local groups, or individuals, for anything that will further the aims of the Charity.

Amateur dramatics- The Society's annual production in2017 was "The Wizard of Oz" The AGM was held in the Pennington Memorial Church Room, Kendal on the 19th March 2018. The death of Susan Scott-Stephenson was reported and Audrey Ireland was unable to continue as a Trustee . The remaining Trustees were re-elected. The Accounts for the year ended 31st January 2018 were presented and accepted

Abbeytown Juniors FC have successfully ran 17 junior football teams for the benefit of the local community. All teams are lead by volunteers, who deliver weekly training sessions and organise games for each team in the local leagues. The committee are currently fundraising to develop and improve our facilities, which will include drainage and building work.

The charity offers grants and bursaries for educational purposes. These are either to educational institutions within the parish of Dent or to individuals under the age of 25 with a connection to the parish of Dent.

At Furness Group Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), our horses benefit the lives of disabled children and adults in the Furness area. Through riding we provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement, all supported by our hard working volunteers and qualified coaches at Seaview Riding School on Walney Island, Barrow-in-Furness.

Upper Eden Linking Lives is a befriending service aimed at adults who are experiencing loneliness or find themselves requiring some extra friendship and support, and this is provided through weekly home visits or telephone calls. We match volunteers with those who are referred to us and all volunteers are carefully selected, trained, and vetted.

To further the study, practice and enjoyment of brass band music in all its forms in order to advance the education and appreciation of the public in the art of brass band music through public performance, training and education in the county of Northumberland and the surrounding area.

Local church meeting in and serving the needs of the population of West Cumbria

Its object is the promotion of the voluntary sector for the benefit of the public by providing management, governance and other support to small charities and voluntary organisations withing Carlisle and district.

The provision of a sports and recreation ground and other facilities in the interests of social welfare for sport, recreation and other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Burton in Kendal, South Lake District, Cumbria

We award grants to children/young people aged 25 and under in our area (Millom to The Green and Millom to Bootle) to help them fulfil their dreams. Including, college/university students, sports awards, dance and music.

To provide help to disadvantaged individuals and groups within the Eden District, UK and Worldwide where appropriate. We raise funds locally through a number of fund raising events to carry out these activities.

Pays annuities/makes yearly donations to unmarried/widowed women over the age of 50 who appear to be in needy circumstances and who live in the parish of Ambleside, Cumbria.

Community Space for; arts,crafts; culture; local comunity group meeting area

FROCS runs fundraising events, often social and family-friendly events. The money raised from these is for the benefit of the children of Crosthwaite School. FROCS other main activity is to promote strong and purposeful relations between parents, staff and the local community.
