Village Hall

Grasmere Red Squirrel Group ActivitiesWe conserve red squirrels in the Grasmere area of Cumbria by- feeding and monitoring them using people and cameras- removing sick specimens so they do not spread viruses and diseases- controlling grey squirrels using lawful and humane means- educating the public via leaflets, posters, newsletters, social media and face to face talks

Art and Craft Table Tennis, twice a year Bouncy castle and Ball Pool, (Parents stay to this activity )

Local activities, church activities, songs of praise etc, Sunday school, local charity fundraising, local hospital support, youth organisations, mountain rescue teams, womens institute.

Provision of a community centre for the benefit of the residents of Allhallows parish and surrounding area. Providing facilities for hire for running of activities for people of all ages and abilities. The Management committee run a range of activities including Arts and Crafts exhibition, Monthly Bingo and Lunch Club and occasional coffee mornings and Quiz nights, to help raise funds.

The purposes of the charity are to provide for the maintenance of priests, support of the poor, provide Roman Catholic education of children and support of the Roman Catholic Religion within the geographical boundaries of the Diocese of Lancaster .

Sedbergh Town Band enables people of diverse backgrounds, ages and musical ability, living in rural communities, to learn to play brass instruments and experience the achievement and comradeship from playing in a band. Public performances provide live music to audiences, which otherwise would not have such an opportunity.

Help to support missions abroad and at home, and give relief to school and community. Also to reach out to the poor and the homeless.

Provides care and shelter for homeless animals in the Furness area.

By assisting residents and businesses in the Keswick area to plan, prepare and recover from an emergency.By holding the community emergency plan?(CEP) for Keswick.By working in partnership with local voluntary and statutory organisations to plan and respond to an emergency situation.By the use of volunteers and other resources to provide assistance during and after an emergency.

A choir which number 64 persons +. We perform concerts of sacred music twice per year. We charge a fee to attend but members subs subsidize costs. We use a profession organist, orchestra and conductor.

General Charitable Purposes

Provides public live orchestral and choral/orchestral concerts employing a wide repertoire. Gives local amateur and semi-professional musicians the opportunity to play together. Encourages the appreciation of classical/light classical music. Provides opportunities for young people to develop musical and listening skills. Works with other musical, educational and community groups on joint projects.

Running a village hall for the benefit of the local community, giving residents somewhere to meet and undertake a range of leisure activities. Examples of activities include: brownies; dancing/music groups; local history society, toddlers' group, charity coffee mornings, film nights, yoga classes, painting classes, young children's activities, philatelic society and local/general elections.

The Brough Agricultural Association, organises and stages the annual Brough Show to promote agriculture, horticulture and associated activities in the Upper Eden Valley of Cumbria. The show takes place in the Brough and Kirkby Stephen area. The show did not take place in 2020 or 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We look forward to staging the show in 2022.

The charity aims to advance public appreciation of brass band music and the playing of brass instruments by providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to make music together and to perform at concerts, contests and other musical events.

Provision of food to those in need

PAYMENTS ARE MADE TO THE CARTMEL POOR CHARITY AND TO BROW EDGE FOUNDATION. THE BULK OF THE MONIES AFTER THE ABOVE IS USED FOR PROMOTING THE EDUCATION OR TRAINING TO PERSONS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 A 25 AND PROVIDING GRANTS TO SCHOOLS TO MEET EXPENDITURE, NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE EDUCATION AUTHORITY. THE BENEFICIAL AREA IS THE ANCIENT PARISH OF CARTMEL AS DEFINED IN THE TRUST DEED.

Village community Hall

Day care facilities and activities for the elderly and elderly mentally infirm on a Monday to Friday basis, provided by Cumbria County Council.

Activities involve use and hire of village hall. Hall is used by local school, adult education, dance groups, church, youth club and others eg parties.

The charity seeks to promote the education and training, including social and physical training, by awarding grants.
