Grasmere Red Squirrel Group ActivitiesWe conserve red squirrels in the Grasmere area of Cumbria by- feeding and monitoring them using people and cameras- removing sick specimens so they do not spread viruses and diseases- controlling grey squirrels using lawful and humane means- educating the public via leaflets, posters, newsletters, social media and face to face talks

It promote and further the craft of beekeeping in Cumbria and advances the education of the public primarily in the importance and role of bees and beekeeping to the environment and the dangers/threats bees face and how the public can assist. This is achieved through presence at shows, holding a Honey Show annually, work in schools and libraries and other vernues.

The FOSPX sole purpose is to raise funds for St Pius X Catholic Primary School.Most of our events and fundraising is held at the school.The main objectives of our fundraising are:-Supporting the National Curriculum and wider school life. -Provides funding for specific projects identified through the school self-evaluation.

The charity provides relief for children with life limiting illnesses principally in the North West of England and is mainly acheived by providing holidays of a lifetime for seriously ill children.

The Brough Agricultural Association, organises and stages the annual Brough Show to promote agriculture, horticulture and associated activities in the Upper Eden Valley of Cumbria. The show takes place in the Brough and Kirkby Stephen area. The show did not take place in 2020 or 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We look forward to staging the show in 2022.

PAYMENTS ARE MADE TO THE CARTMEL POOR CHARITY AND TO BROW EDGE FOUNDATION. THE BULK OF THE MONIES AFTER THE ABOVE IS USED FOR PROMOTING THE EDUCATION OR TRAINING TO PERSONS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 A 25 AND PROVIDING GRANTS TO SCHOOLS TO MEET EXPENDITURE, NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE EDUCATION AUTHORITY. THE BENEFICIAL AREA IS THE ANCIENT PARISH OF CARTMEL AS DEFINED IN THE TRUST DEED.

Day care facilities and activities for the elderly and elderly mentally infirm on a Monday to Friday basis, provided by Cumbria County Council.

We arrange concerts using professional musicians, society members and local youth. We also commission new works and provide educational facilities for children, young people, members and the general public.

The objects of the charity is to benefit sick needy persons resident within Lancs, Gr. Manchr, S. Cumbria, Liverpl and Sefton with up to 20% of the net yearly income being available for the benefit of retired district nursing staff who have worked in the same area. There is no restriction on the overall amount to benefit the sick needy. Application of amounts is at the discretion of the trustees.

Activities involve use and hire of village hall. Hall is used by local school, adult education, dance groups, church, youth club and others eg parties.

The charity seeks to promote the education and training, including social and physical training, by awarding grants.

The administration and management of an all weather pitch on the premises of Kirkby Stephen Grammar School Sports College and the promotion of sport in the Kirkby Stephen area

To preserve for the public benefit Acorn Bank Watermill, a Grade II* listed 19th Century watermill, located on the National Trust's Acorn Bank Estate at Temple Sowerby, Penrith, Cumbria CA10 1SP as a building of architectural and historical interest.
