Manna House works for the benefit of the public in South lakeland, providing advice, advocacy and a drop-in support centre for those who are homeless, vulnerably housed, lonely or needing help.

The purpose or the group is to assist residents and businesses in the Cockermouth area to plan, prepare and recover from an emergency, by working in partnership with local voluntary and statutory to plan for and respond to an emergency situation and by the use of volunteers and other resources to provide assistance during and after an emergency.

Kendal Bowmen is a friendly archery club for all. Whether you shoot longbow, recurve or compound, if you are a social archer or seriously competitive, Kendal Bowmen has something for everyone. Since 1972 our friendly club has offered both target and field course facilities to its members and competitions throughout the year. We also run beginners courses and have-a-go's to widen participation.

The Mid Pennine Search and Rescue Organisation (MPSRO) serves as a representative body for the five independent Mountain Rescue teams in the Mid Pennine Region, namely; Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team and Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
