Charity funds are raised by the Rotary Club of Brampton and Longtown through a variety of small fund raising activities undertaken in the club's main operating area of north Cumbria. Funds raised are applied in the relief of the poor and needy in Cumbria, or to such other charitable purpose, institution, society or object as the Rotary Club of Brampton and Longtown shall approve.

Lancaster Footlights is a thriving amateur drama group which is based at Lancaster Grand Theatre. They first started performing in the 1920's and purchased the Grand in 1950 to save it from demolition. Over the years the theatre has been progressively restored and it is now regularly used by many community groups and a wide range of professional acts.

Promote public interest in Cumbrian landscape; survey, record & research same; liaise with owners to assist and promote our aims.

The mungrisdale Recreation Room ( Village hall) provides a venue for the local community and third party groups to use for social and recreational activities

The band's rehearsals are weekly. It performs at many local functions, charity events and contests. The band organizes concerts and festivals to which celebrity musicians are invited to perform. The band provides individual and group tuition for members and runs a Junior Band for this purpose. Each year junior members are encouraged to take part in the International Brass Band Summer School.

VILLAGE HALL FOR COMMUNITY USE

We provide a variety of wheelchair and disability sports to disabled and abled bodied people from across the north of England and South of Scotland

Two's Company Keswick is a befriending scheme offered to lonely and/or social isolated adults in the Keswick and wider CA12 area. Fully trained and vetted volunteer befrienders are matched up with those referred into the scheme according to personality and interests.

The charity operates a parented home for street children in Kiev and provides assistance to disabled children in the Ukraine. Th charity also works in Malawi and has worked with Medic Malawi to provide an 80 bed hostel for young girls.

To provide holiday accommodation for patients suffering from renal disease, and their families and carers. To support the welfare of the above with financial support

To help and support the patients of the Wigton hospital and Solway Community and patients in receipt of Hospital Community Services, and generally to support the charitable work of the said Hospital.To provide, or assist in the provision of, amenities in the Wigton hospital and Solway Community for patient and staff.

Lorton After School Club provides a vital service through employing qualified and experienced staff to deliver activities, new experiences and supervised play for children aged 4 to 11. The group offers a safe setting for children to experience new activities and learning, as well as social time with friends, mixing with different age groups and children from other backgrounds, out of school time.

To make grants and donations for the relief of the poor, the aged, the sick and infirm and for educational and other charitable public benefits.

Community activities: WI, Art Group, Textiles Group, Young FarmersCommunity events: Carol concert, Christmas party, summer barbecue, pub nights, soup and dessert, dominoes drive, quiz nights etcContribution to local community: picnic bench on village green for Platinum Jubilee, funding of grass cutting to keep village area clean.

Supporting the education & welfare of Children at or formerly at Repton Preparatory School. Relief of poverty and education of children & members of the Public in the UK, the Ukraine and India

To help raise money for additional things in school such as theatre outings and christmas parties etc.

The charity exists to promote the resettlement and rehabilitation of ex-offenders in North and West Cumbria in order to reduce the risk of them re-offending, thereby contributing to the creation of safer communities. Working in cooperation with the Probation Service, it aims to do this by providing mentoring, advice and opportunities for work experience.

School PTA. Raising funds for children at Grayrigg School

The work of the Trust continues to wards achieving the priorities regarded as important by the residents in the area of benefit

The PTA works to advance the education of pupils at Hayton C of E School by fostering strong relationships between parents, carers, staff and the wider community. We raise funds and organise events to provide equipment, activities and opportunities to enrich pupils' learning, wellbeing and school experience.

The Hall Committee put on regular events (quizzes, ceilidh, carnival, food evenings etc) and it has regular weekly user-groups (scouts, art group, garden club, dog training, craft and chat, WI, book Club, Wine Circle etc). Everything is aimed at encouraging and protecting a sense of community.
