Providing a village hall for recreation and educational purposes for the village of Soulby and surrounding area.

Providing/assisting in provision of such special benefits of a kind not normally provided by L.E.A or Threlkeld C of E school as may be agreed between the trustees and the school managers/governors after consultation with L. E. Authority. Promoting the education including social & physical training of persons under 25 years who are resident in the Ecclesiastical Parish of St. Mary, Threlkeld.

TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF PENRITH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

We work as an expression of Churches Together in Windermere and District and in Ambleside and under the aegis of Youth for Christ (UK). Our aim is to take the gospel relevantly to young people in our area. To this end we employ [a] youth worker[s] and resource Christian ministry for young people in our locality.

Provision of snooker tables and meeting rooms

Carlisle Music Society organises and promotes six classical chamber music concerts per annum (Winter season). These concerts are given in St Cuthbert's Church, Carlisle.

Carlisle Music Society offerrsd a wide rasnge of chamber musdic concerts once a month from September tyio March, ex December. These are open to all mermbers of the public with under 18s and full time students having free entry. The concerts are ghelkd in The Fratry at Carlisle Catheedral. The aim is to provide acce3ss to m usic which is not usually offred to the public in Carlisle andf tyhe wider

The John Ruskin School Prize Fund (sometimes referred to as The Tom Usher Fund) can provide funding for ex-John Ruskin School students towards sixth form studies, an apprenticeship or Further Education course. Applicants must be under 18 years old. Only one application per student. Applications open 1 Sept, and forms must be submitted by 31 Oct in same year. Forms available on the school website.

A VILLAGE HALL PROVIDING EDUCATION/TRAINING, ARTS/CULTURE AND SPORTS/RECREATION TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Middlewood Trust runs environmental courses and events on the subject of sustainable development and sustainble living. It seeks to reach the widest number of people possible in order to provide low-impact skills and methods than can be used in daily life, and to inspire people to develop a more harmonious relationship with the world around them.

Fundraising activities

We hold community dances, quizes, games evenings, flower festivals, church activities, money raising for different charities. We also hire out the hall to local groups including the Primary school in the adjoining village, exercise classes, a bowling group, and to groups needing a smaller room for meetings.

TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN SOUTH WEST CUMBRIA IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS THROUGH THE PROVISION OF; A) PUBLIC LECTURES ; B) BURSARIES, SCHOLARSHIPS, PRIZES AND AWARDS TO STUDENTS IN PRIMARY, SECONDARY, AND HIGHER EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS; C) GRANTS TO ENABLE EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS TO INVEST IN FACILITIES TO PROMOTE AN INTEREST IN STEM SUBJECTS.

For the public benefit to advance education in the historical use, architectural and constructional heritage of the Carlisle Victorian Public and Turkish Baths, being a listed building of particular historical and architectural interest, and in its preservation.

Distribution of Christian literature at local shows and markets

To raise additional funds to support children in their activities in our school

Carlisle & District U3A organises, promotes and provides lifelong learning opportunities for its members, and is for anyone, immaterial of age, who is no longer in full-time employment. The U3A operates within about a 15 mile radius of Carlisle. The U3A is an unincorporated member of the Third Age Trust.

The Clifford Howarth Charity Trust being a very small charity is only able to consider a small number of projects. Projects supported are community development primarily local based.

The Charity's purposes are the advancement of the Roman Catholic religion and the relief of sick, handicapped, disabled and infirm persons by assisting in the transport of such persons to a recognised shrine, primarily to Lourdes, France but also in the UK or elsewhere.

Education and training in accordance with the policy, organisation and rules of the Scout Association.

Charity is a sports club which provides athletics to the community of West Cumbria. The club is affiliated to the sports NGB (UK Athletics) and also the County Athletic Association
