General scouting activities

Recreation ground and social club for use by the local community

We are a pre-school playgroup offering children and their families a facility 4 mornings per week to children in the Eckington area who are specifically targeted. Fees are deliberately kept to the minimum possible in order to make the playgroup affordable to as many families as possible, with reductions and subsidies from social services where need is greatest.

The object of the South Derbyshire Trust is:- "to promote the development of music making opportunities for people in South Derbyshire and surrounding areas. It will do this by, amongst other things, making available music experiences through the provision of musical and concert opportunities and making available musical instruments as and when necessary".

The Scout group provides education and training opportunities to its members, including activities in arts, culture, sport and recreation. We provide our own premises for these activities including outdoor space.Many activities are provided through overnight camps and away days. We also provide care and counselling services to those members in need.

Village Aid empowers disadvantaged people in rural West Africa to improve their own lives.Working through community based partners, participatory learning is used to identify development priorities. Skills and resources are provided to turn these into a reality, programmes include Education, Securing Livelihoods and Access to Justice.

THE MISSION OF ACE YOUTH TRUST IS TO OFFER PRACTICAL SUPPORT TO LOCAL YOUNG PEOPLE ON A RANGE OF ISSUES AFFECTING THEIR DAILY LIVES TO HELP THEM FULFIL THEIR POTENTIAL.

The Trustees apply the income of the charity to organisations involved with persons who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm. This is achieved by providing grants to purchase items, services or facilities calculated to alleviate the suffering or assist in the recovery of such persons.Preference is given to applications for persons in need of convalescence.

TO APPLY IN RELIEVING EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY DISABLED EX-SERVICEMEN BORN IN THE COUNTY OF DERBYSHIRE OR RESIDENT THEREIN AND THEIR DEPENDANTS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS.

Provides general advice and guidance to members of the Chinese community regarding issues such as health, welfare benefits, housing and education. Acts as a focal point for the community to share common Chinese cultural practices and celebrate Chinese culture/ festivals.

To provide housing for people in need

Regular public worship open to all.The provision of sacred space for personal prayer and contemplation.Teaching of Christianity through sermons, courses and small groupsPromoting the whole mission of the Church through provision of activities for senior citizens, parents and toddlers and other special need groups.

To preserve, promote, enhance the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal, for the benefit of all, and to assist the restoration of the Northern Reaches of the canal

To provide four homes for selected elderly residents of Bolsover

We aim to empower male & female survivors aged 18 & older who have experienced childhood sexual/incest/emotional/ physical/neglect abuse, rape & trafficking, to reach their full potential through personal development recovery, training, education, & employment. Additionally, we strive to raise awareness, enhance understanding among professionals & decision-makers of the trauma, impact & prevalence

The aim of the Scout Council is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their communities. The method of achieving this aim is by providing an enjoyable scheme of progressive training, based on the scout law & promise and guided by adult leadership.

The charities main aim is the promotion of the Christian Gospel both in the UK and abroad.

The provision to disabled children and adults, of instruction and practice in horse riding and carriage driving
