The North East Trust for Aphasia supports people in the North East who have aphasia. Aphasia is a communication problem, often following stroke, which can affect an adult's ability to speak, read, write and understand other people. It can have devastating effects on peoples' lifes. NETA has set up a Support Centre for people with aphasia which offers support via communication and project groups.

Example activities supported - Promoting volunteering, Relief of poverty and relief of those in need. Encouraging healthy recreation, Yarm Club occasionally gives grants to individuals. The charity holds a range of Table tennis sessions for all age and abilities. Using the local area to launch outreach sessions in primary and secondary schools, and working with local organisations to set up sessions for any programme involving Table tennis.

We provide social activities that include social meetings and accessible sports. Other activities include group days out, regular virtual meetings, technology support and mentoring. We also produce a monthly newsletter in various formats. All the venues we use are suitable for disabled access.

Newcastle Frontrunners is a running club catering to the north-east of England, and based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are part of the International Frontrunners network, a family of running clubs which are inclusive and welcome all sections of the community. We aim to reduce homophobia and improve Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT plus) communities participation in sport and running.

Operating in the North East of England and based in County Durham, the charity aims to provide information and education regarding the development and use of the theatre pipe organ in the mid twentieth century and to preserve a working example of such an instrument in a place accessible to the general public.

The activities of the Charity include the following: Teaching and Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Bible Study's, Prayer Meetings, Visiting the Elderly and Sick people, Parent and Toddler group (Rainbow Tots), Free Meal Days, Clothes Bank.
