Bridging the Gap lslington offers trained, supervised volunteer mentors to provide support to people at risk of offending including people who are homeless or addicted to help them to achieve specific short term goals along their chosen path to a more constructive and participative life. We operate in North London, in the area around Islington.

Providing free primary education to eight and more villages in Sierra Leone; provide free bibles to individuals and churches; free medication, second-hand clothes to amputees in Sierra Leone, provide free accommodation, for at most two weeks, to individuals visiting Africa for the first time, especially, descendants of African Caribbean, and food to the Homeless in the UK, mostly in Hackney.

Beyond Sight Loss is a user-led charity addressing loneliness and social isolation of blind and partially sighted people in Tower Hamlets. Members meet to socialise and share information about inclusive activities, events and opportunities to improve health and wellbeing. Outings take place in accessible museums, parks, theatre and sporting events.

In the year 2009/2010, we continued to provide nursery facilities for up to 12 children from 5 years. We were awarded a grant to modify the buildings for wheelchair access for disabled children, and the work has been completed.Two Sisters completed their degree and NVQ studies during the year.

As a self help disability group, we aim to bring disabled youth and adults of most excluded communities out of isolation and offer them a new healthy and competitive lifestyle providing training on wheelchairs and advising how to join competitive levels ie wheelchair Basketball League. We are based in Hackney and cover mostly East, North and Central London, but welcome everyone from anywhere else.
