The Friends of Upminster Windmill manage Upminster Windmill on behalf of the London Borough of Havering. A major restoration programme funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and others, including a significant contribution of volunteer labour by ourselves, was completed in 2023, and we now operate the site as a visitor attraction and educational resource.

The prevention or relief of poverty in Romford and the surrounding area by the provision of a foodbank -Collier Row & Romford; the provision of advice to assist such persons to re-schedule and re-finance their borrowings by arranging repayment plans or implementation of other debt solutions; and the provision of financial education to enable such persons to manage their finances more effectively.

Put on events for the pupils of Harold Wood Primary School, their families and the local community to raise funds for the school. We are dedicated to provide a supportive community for individuals living with disabilities and their families through a range of networking events, support groups, face to face activities, providing advice and resources, support and friendship, whilst promoting an inclusive environment to those we serve.

The prime purpose is to provide financial assistance to "poor clergy" throughout the Chelmsford Diocese. This includes those whose own parents are now among their dependants. Support extends into retirement and-after death-continues to provide grants for surviving spouses and dependant children.
