The Friends of Jesmond Dene is an enviromental group dedicated to improve,protect and preserve for the benefit of the public the area known as Jesmond Dene in the County of Tyne & Wear.

We provide a modern building for the area which is available to any person or organisation to use.

Hexhamshire Parish Burial GroundTo maintain upkeep and repair of the burial ground of the church of St Helen's Whitley Chapel for the benefit of the local community of Hexhamshire and the wider visiting public.

Ability Sports and Social supports Adults with a wide Variety of Learning and Physical Disabilities by giving them access to a wide Variety of Sporting and Social Activities.

Provides financial help and assistance to Local Hospital and Health Centre for the benefit of the local community

Educational excursions/talks. Individual grants.

We hold WI classes, meetings, sport activities. social occasions & catering in our new kitchen. The local school cooked in while the school was being renovated, children's partys, line dancing.

Engaging with local authorities, local community organisations, the general public etc to maintain the outstanding quality of Hexham and to promote its interests as a commercial, social and residential community and to find a balance between development and conservation.Arranging public talks and discussions on topical and local issues.Publishing a regular Newsletter.

We provide direct help for the village school, which is an integral and central part of the village, and has been for generations.

TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION OF NATIVE RED SQUIRREL POPULATIONS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT ACROSS THE NORTH EAST OF ENGLAND FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS BY:A) SUPPORTING LOCAL VOLUNTARY GROUPS ENGAGED IN WORK TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE SPECIES. B) RAISING AWARENESS OF AND EDUCATING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO ENSURE ITS SURVIVAL IN THE NORTHEAST.

North East Mission aims to see an end to homelessness in the North East.Currently NEM runs Durham Winter Night Shelter.

OUR PRINCIPLE AIM IS TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE WHO WISH TO ENJOY OUTDOOR EDUCATION. WE PROVIDE ACCESS AND SUPPORT FOR THOSE WITH A DISABILITY AND PROVIDE GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS AND SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE PLACES AT DERWENT HILL FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. OUR MAIN SOURCE OF FUNDS IS FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND BURSARIES.

Promotion and maintaining of the the site of The Battle of Flodden as a heritage and historical asset. Researching the Battle and related topics and publishing the results of such research. Providing printed and on-line material to inform and educate the public about Flodden. Linking Flodden to other related sites throughout the UK.
