Maintain Watlington House, a Grade 2 * building and rent rooms in the building to charities operating within 25 miles of Reading, Berkshire. To also rent out a small number of car parking spaces in the restored gardens which are not allocated to tenants at a commercially viable rate, the benefits of which are used to maintain the house.

Making grants to those training for Christian Ministry, teachers in theological education, theological institutions in the Majority world and those seeking to assist in the Majority world.

Advancement of Christian faith locally and supporting other organisations with similar aims nationally and internationally. Relief of poverty both financial and spiritual. Social action showing compassion and supporting those in need without prejudice.

To relieve suffering by providing volunteers trained to search and recover missing vulnerable people, working at the request of Thames Valley Police and assisting other Rescue organisations. Providing First Aid and Search and Rescue volunteers to the County Emergency Resilience department during times of flood or other disasters. Providing First Aid and marshaling personnel to local organisations.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the public by the provision of traditional Thames river craft, equipment and resources to enable people to learn how to row, skull, punt and / or paddle and to practice these skills and to hold a regatta.

To operate a wheelchair basketball club providing disabled and able bodied people to opportunity to play the sport at whatever level they want to, ranging from recreational up to National and International standards. To promote fitness and competitiveness whilst taking part in league matches representing the club. To provide a sociable and friendly atmosphere where all are welcome.

Reading Street Pastors are an initiative of Ascension Trust comprising of church based, referenced, DBS checked, AT trained and uniformed individuals who patrol our town and neighbourhoods engaging with anyone who needs help by caring, listening and helping. We also have community, rail & college pastors. We also support the First Stop initative providing a safe space & first aid support.

- To advance the religion of Islam by promoting the teachings and tenets of the Shia faith.- Provision of facilities for worship and religious ceremonies and provision of services for Islamic education in accordance with the teachings of the Shia doctrine.- Advancement of education for public benefit, by means of history lessons, lectures and classes.- Aide development of young adults

The Reading Chinese School was established in 1978. The school's aim is to provide education in both Chinese language and culture for children and adults of all ages and backgrounds. The school offer the Chinese classes for children of 3 years old to adults on Sundays during the school term time. The school also have extra-curriculum classes such as public speech, drama and recital and dances

The net yearly income is paid to the Parochial Church Council of St. Laurence, Reading for the maintenance and repair of the fabric, the bells and seats of the church of St. Laurence.

We support people from former Eastern European countries and beyond by partnering with small groups and organisations in the region. We offer resources (including fundraising) whilst encouraging people from the region to share skills and experiences into western society. We currently partner with 3 Christian schools, an arts festival, small business ventures and Christian counselling programmes.

Relief of unemployment for disabled / disadvantaged people by the provision of employment opportunities and work related training opportunities. Provision of work trials, training and in-work support. Support for clients to achieve both soft and hard outcomes.

Scouting Activities

To promote the Jewish faith in Reading and surrounding areas as a community.Outreach by communication and meetings with other faiths and schools.Assist with the welfare of our members.

To raise charitable funds through the staging of the annual Woodcote Veteran Transport Rally in support of the Charity's objectives of promoting any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in the parish of Woodcote and the immediate surroundings thereof.

Providing disabled people with the opportunity to ride and/or carriage drive to benefit their health and well being.

Working with the National Society of the RSPCA, with particular reference to the geographic area of the branch. Financially independent and run by local volunteers, we rehabilitate and rehome abused and neglected, cats and rabbits. We also provide assistance to ensure sick animals receive appropriate veterinary treatment.

The 14th Richmond 'Viking' Scout Boating Centre operates as a centre of excellence as part of the Scout Association, providing boating activities on the River Thames, predominantly in and around Richmond. Young people from the scout movement and other youth groups are provided with experience of boating on the tidal Thames by Scout Association qualified instructors.

Our main activity is to preach gospel of Jesus christ through assembling and act of community building. Please see our charity deed.

We are a Baptist church gathering together for worship, prayer and reading the Bible. We seek to be a community which shares Christ and provide opportunity for all to experience the love and presence of God. We aim to serve peoples needs, helping people come to faith and discipleship, encouraging people to serve others in wider mission and providing many social opportunities.

The relief of the poor and needy or such other charitable purpose as the Rotary Club ofReading Matins shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct.

Work to promote christian family life within the Diocese of Oxford and overseas through the support given to the Central Mothers' Union.
