Charities In Reading

We are a church in Whitley, South Reading. We also run a community project with a number of groups and activities, including providing a venue for other local churches to meet, development courses, emergency food parcels. We also host a gardening project.

Henley Choral Society comprises of an adult choir as well a youth choir ( age 8-17) who rehearse weekly during term times and perform one or more concerts each term. In addition the Society runs workshops some of which are open to the public and is part of Henley Town's public Christmas and summer festivals.

LifeSpring Church meets together each week for worship and teaching in pursuit of the objects being the advancement of the Christian religion and other charitable purposes.

Grants for the benefit of individuals generally on application by Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers and Voluntary Organisations when statutory provision cannot be used.Activity is restricted to helping people who live within a 7 mile radius from the centre of Reading who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm.

The charity makes grants to Kendrick School in Reading and to pupils and former pupils of the school.

The objects of the charity are to further the ideals of fellowship, truth, tolerance and justice embodied in the Women's Institute movement in Berkshire and elsewhere. It is non-sectarian, non-party political and offers all women the opportunity to enjoy friendship, life-long learning, to widen their horizons and, together, influence local, national and international affairs.

The Rock Academy is a charitable organisation which provides young people the opportunity to learn, create and perform original music through instrument lessons, music technology courses, band coaching, live events. It also provides music educational support services for schools and community groups.

The object of The Polish Saturday School in Reading is to advance education of young people between the ages of 4 and 20 in Reading and in surrounding areas, in Polish language, literature, history, geography, culture, tradition and Christian values.

Rescuing and treating sick and injured swans and occasionally other waterfowl in the Thames Valley area.Training emergency services,Network rail,Highways Authority and other public services in handling swans. Educating the general public about swans and their environment.

The Charity principal activity during the year was the promotion of the Christian Faith.

Commonly known as the Ridgeline Trust, we have developed a Therapeutic Garden with meeting and teaching facilities in a pavilion at 25 Whiteknights Road, in East Reading. Supervised gardening helps people with experience of mental and or physical difficulties and other problems to regain lost skills, to learn new skills, to improve social skills and to help build confidence and self-esteem.

Rescue and rehome cats and kittens. ~We care for stray cats and kittens and animals surrendered by their owners. We operate mainly in the South Bucks area.

The Charitys main purpose is to relieve sickness and protect mental health through the provision of therapeutic horticulture to those with, or vulnerable to, mental health problems and to protect physical health through encouraging horticulture related physical activity and by promoting healthy eating to individuals and organisations.

Farnham Royal Village Hall provides low cost space and accommodation to various public groups and organisations. The hall is available to all within the local area.

To advance education and to promote research into and study of archaeology, architecture and history and kindred subjects, especially in their relation to one another; to make available to the public the results of such research through lecture meetings and an annual journal, Oxoniensia, containing papers and articles and other items of local archaeological or historical interest.

The trusts objectives are to advance the education of the pupils in the school and to raise funds for school improvements. The majority of the funds were raised through the following main fundraising events held this year; a Ladies Shopping Evening,, a Christmas Fayre, a Summer Fun Day, an Easter Egg Event, a quiz night and a camping weekend.

PROVIDES THE INTEREST AND WELFARE OF DEAF AND HEARING IMPAIRED PEOPLE. PROVIDES ACTIVITES AND FACILITIES TAILORED TO THE VARIED NEEDS OF HEARING IMPAIRED PEOPLE IN THE AREA/GROUPS. INCLUDES YOUNG PEOPLE, ADULTS, SENIOR CITIZENS, FAMILIES. COLLECTS AND DISSEMINATES INFORMATION TO THE DEAF COMMUNITY AND HEARING IMPAIRED.

PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF CHRISTIAN RELIGION BY COMMUNICATION AND BY THE INSTRUCTION OF CHRISTIANS IN THEIR CHRISTIAN LIFE AND SERVICE. PROMOTE BETTER UNDERSTANDING IN THE COMMUNITY.

Christian Science Church, Reading Room and Sunday School, holding church and Sunday School services every Sunday at 10.30am, and Testimony Meetings at 7.45pm on Wednesdays. Reading Room and bookshop open during working hours most days of the week. Annual lecture to public.
