To offer grants to young people under the age of 25 residing within the Sheffield City boundary, although preference is given to those residing in the Fulwood (upper Hallam) area of Sheffield. Grants may be offered for general educational purposes, including social and physical training.

The society's function is to bring astronomy education to the general public and provide a regular meeting place for those interested in astronomy and space sciences. Alongside our monthly meetings, our outreach work includes dedicated observing events and talks to schools, youth groups, adult groups and other external groups. All ages and abilities are welcome.
