The Charity provides relief to children and adults suffering from any chronic or life limiting illness, via the provision of residential hospice care, day care, education, training and support for patients and their families (or other carers), provided both within the organisation and in the community. HARP's mission is to end homelessness in Southend. We provide a range of emergency and longer term supported housing alongside training, support and motivational activities. The trust assists in the advancement of education of young people from 5-18 otherwise than at school as defined in the Education Acts 1944 to 1993 and for any charitable purposes for the benefit of the Brethren.

Provision of housing for vulnerable people. Support available for the general public in areas such as money advice, debt counselling and budgeting, drug and alcohol abuse, benefit claiming and housing. Charitable trading via furniture shops in Southend-On-Sea - these shops provide opportunities for beneficiaries of the project to volunteer, gain experience and even be employed.

The charity acts to support the continuance and development of the voluntary and community sector in Southend-on-Sea as well as leading, on behalf of other agencies and Councils for Voluntary Services, on work of wider significance throughout Essex and beyond.

Active Essex Foundation has been set up to use physical activity and Sport to engage and support the most deprived communities across Essex. We work in partnership with local organisations to engage harder to reach communities and under-represented groups across our county to address inequalities, empower communities, break down barriers, and improve outcomes.

We assist asylum-seekers and refugees and new members of our community, offering advice and support and signposting them to appropriate services; and liaise with local community and statutory organisations and are active in night shelters and the Southend Homeless Action Network. At the same time, CAST is an activist organisation that challenges existing structures.

We support artists from all disciplines by creating time and space for the development of ideas and philosophies around artists' work through, residencies, producing, commissioning, exhibitions, debate and discussion, touring and publishing. We ensure all our work actively contributes to civil society, through education, participation, learning opportunities, conversation and debate.
