Charities In The Gambia

We give support to selected projects overseas, especially those in which local people are involved. We help communities in poor countries with funds for small scale projects that can create a long-lasting benefit. Typically these include the provision of medical, educational and community facilities and the promotion of new techniques for irregation, education and organic farming.

Children of Adam Appeal is a charity organisation which aims to feed, shelter and assist people all over the world who have been affected by poverty, famine, drought and natural disasters. Our priorities include orphans, widowed women, elderly and people with disabilities.

The prevention or relief of poverty and humanitarian support in EMEA and APAC with particular focus on Bangladesh and the UK. The charity achieves this through providing grants, gifts and services to individuals in need, charities and other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty and providing humanitarian relief.

RESCUE, FOSTER & ADOPT DOGS OF THE GREAT DANE & GREAT DANE CROSS BREEDS. DANELINE USES 'FOSTER' HOMES ALL OVER THE UK INSTEAD OF KENNELS WHILE WE FIND THE RIGHT HOMES FOR THE DOGS. THE 'FOSTER PARENTS' PROVIDE LOCAL HELP AND ADVICE THROUGHOUT THE ADOPTION AS WELL AS PROVIDING A VITAL LINK IN THE AFTERCARE SERVICE. WE ALSO MAKE GRANTS TO & ASSIST OTHER UK REGISTERED CHARITIES WITH SIMILAR PURPOSES.

Supporting the work of Godalming United Church, and supporting specific development activities in The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Uganda. This includes the collection and shipping of surplus secondhand school furniture from UK schools being renewed & replaced for use in schools in The Gambia and Sierra Leone.

SkyAngels Air Ambulance has been formed to provide the United Kingdoms with its first national air ambulance fixed-winged aircraft service. Our service will give the NHS an extra air ambulance option and bring us in-line with all other developed countries. Regional airline partnerships to help transfer patients by air with medical escorts. Funded & Flying on behalf of the general public.

Computers for Charities provides IT / Educational support to UK and Overseas Charities and Voluntary organisations. Primarily as developers of educational and vocational initiatives to aid registered organisatons. Supply of refurbished equipment and resources. Plus involvement of humanitarian aid where required.

To advance the education of the public in poor communities in The Gambia in particular but not exclusively, by providing learning materials to established schools and building new schools where they do not currently exist.The relief of sickness and the preservation of health amongst people residing permanently or temporarily, particularly but not exclusively in The Gambia, West Africa.

CHEC's programme and projects strive to awaken the official world to the need for deeper, human and ecological philosophies and a wider coalition between every level of society and the natural world on which they depend.

A child-centred volunteer-led organisation that trains and supports local people working with children and young people traumatised by conflict, violence and disaster.

During the year the Charity continued to raise funds from various sources.The charity applied all of its recources to funding the development of Joyces International School in the Gambia.

Arcaid is established for the relief of persons anywhere in the world outside the United Kingdom who are suffering any form of hardship or privation as a result of drought, flood, or other natural disaster, or war, oppression or other human activity, or who by reason of their social or economic conditions are in need of such assistance.

The conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in particular but not exclusively by conducting research into and conserving migratory birds, other animals and the habitats on which they depend.To educate and raise public wareness and understanding and to provide information on such matters.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF NATURAL SCIENCE

To relieve poverty, alleviate pain and suffering, and advance the education of the people of The Gambia

Building and maintenance of a school in The Gambia, West Africa. Supply and shipping of school equipment and childrens goods. Sponsorhip of individual children at the school. Facilities are ongoing to help the whole community by way of adult education, health support etc.

Fundraising to provide funds to advance education for the children in The Gambia to relieve poverty by the provision of financial assistance: to parents to help them pay towards advancing the education of their children and to provide food assistance in local communities.Assist in providing fresh water to Gambian communities.
