The MTVCA seeks to conserve the environment in the Medlock and Tame river valleys and the surrounding districts both urban and rural by the preservation of natural and man-made features, the protection of flora and fauna and by the prevention of pollution and damage to amenities.It will maintain the house and grounds at Oaken Clough Terrace as the HQ of the Association and a wildlife garden.

Holding land for the benefit of the poor of the parish. This land is let to 2 tenants for agricultural use. 2 tenants for amenity use, and the parish council for use as a playing field. Funds are distributed annually and used within the village.

Grants are made to needy persons residing in village of Great Plumstead, Norfolk or surrounding rural area in the month of December each year.

To provide land upon which the annual Sedgefield Argicultural Show and other rural pursuits can be held.

We provide a weekly Day Care Centre service to a rural catchment area in Northern Rother based in the Northiam Villiage Hall. It provides a convivial environment helping to rekindle the "social spark" that has dimmed in some solitary folk. We incorporate an EXTEND exercise session into our day and provide a two course luncheon cooked on the premises, followed by stimulating speakers.

We provide education and training, provide building and facilities for other organisations use, social acivities for an isolated rural community, the hall is used on a regular basis for parties, weddings, and other family functions.

The club holds regular meetings, organises activities and trips for the benefit of its members.

Since the temporary closure of the Rothbury Community Ward the Coquetdale League of Friends continues to support the local health services and their patients in the community with equipment and services to enhance the provision and access to health care in this very rural area. We look forward to the re opening of the ward planned for 2022.

WE ORGANISE ACTIVITIES OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL NATURE, MAINLY WITHIN THE PARISH OF IVER. THESE INCLUDE CLEARING FOOTPATHS, PONDS AND AREAS THAT HAVE BECOME UNTIDY WITH RUBBISH. WE ORGANISE WALKS THAT SOMETIMES EXTEND INTO NEIGHBOURING AREAS. WE MAKE SUBMISSIONS TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES ON PLANNING MATTERS THAT AFFECT OUR PARISH.WE ORGANISE TRIPS TO HOUSES AND GARDENS AND ALSO EVENING TALKS.
