WELSA is a voluntary organisation that helps vulnerable and disadvantaged Somali people. We give them advice and we also translate for them hen required. I also help them when they are job hunting. Although the younger generations have learnt and mastered the English language, unfortunately many elders and parents still truffle with day to day activities due to the language barrier.

We interest and stimulate people who have time on their hands through retirement, unemployment or diminishing family responsibilities. We have no permanent teachers or buildings, require no academic qualifications nor do we issue diplomas or degrees. We have term-time general meetings and special-interest groups. For the general meetings we use both our own members and outside speakers.

The object of Haworth Band (the charitable company), in accordance with its Constitution, is to provide musical entertainment and services to the community (and wider community) and training and tuition to novices and improvers who seek to learn music for personal gratification or to enhance career directions and/or pursuits as a means of vocational or professional qualifications and employment.

THE SOCIETY IS KNOWN AS C E D A R S (CENTRE FOR EMPLOYMENT OF THE DISABLED AND RETIRED OF ROCHFORD SOCIETY. IT WAS ORIGINALLY HOPED TO FIND "PIECE WORK" TO SUPPLEMENT THE INCOME OF PENSIONERS AND DISABLED BUT THIS NEVER HAPPENED. Liverpool U3A, a branch of the University of the Third Age, is a self-help co-operative learning charity for people no longer in full time employment, using the knowledge, experience and skills of its members to organise specialist educational, creative and leisure interest groups and monthly general meetings with guest speakers.

1) to advance the education of the public and in particular the education of middle-aged and older people who are not in full time gainful employment in Launceston and its surrounding locality.2) the provision of facilities for leisure time and recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the above persons in the interests of their social welfare.

The Trust helps young people gain relevant experience in their chosen field to improve their employment prospects and preferably in a way which may lead to them employing others at some time in the future.It currently supports the Fresh Start Academy, based at Kingston Maurward College and the Junior Chefs Academy and Media Studies Department of Weymouth College both institutions based in Dorset.

Charmouth Almshouse Charity provides assistance where necessary to residents living within the Parish boundary i.e. financial difficulties due to theft, loss of job, accident, Hospital stay, desertion or a death. Annual grocery vouchers to those deemed in need. Help with school uniforms - College and Universary grants.

The provision of financial support to individuals in the UK or overseas to assist with the pursuit of academic education or training to enhance employment prospects.

Helping people resident in the parishes of Dalbury, Mackworth, Markeaton, Mercaston, Mickleover and Radbourne under the age of 25 in need of financial assistance in preparation for and during employment, with the secondary purposes of assisting residents in those parishes of any age who are in need.

Our activities are very much community based. A small fishing village, with an industrial history of ironstone mining, and steel works, only a small specialised part of the steelworks remaining (steel brought in by road/rail, from Teesside).
