The main purpose of the charity is advance education in Engalnd and Wales

Grants are made to individual organisations, within the geographic area of the Ancient Parish of Thornhill, to encourage community activities for the elderly, the young, and the disadvantaged, which enhance their condition in life, and to supplement leisure activities and outings for those persons.

Village hall in a rural location used widely by the local community and further afield.

Weekly Club meetings and activities both educational and social

Development of personal Skills, active support for foreign aid workers, emergency relief support.

We work primarily with the Portuguese speaking community in the UK, by offering pastoral and spiritual support and care.We support newly arrived immigrants by assisting in their settling down and offering English language lessons. We are also involved in charity work in the UK as well as abroad through financial, humanitarian aid and social projects in partnership with churches or charities.

Preservation of the historical appearance of Ledury and the surrounding villages.

The provision of holiday accommodation, purpose built in 1988 at Blaen Wern Farm for disabled and/or sick children and young people generally, together with their carers, who are in need and who otherwise would not have an opportunity to visit the countryside.

Provide a Youth movement for members aged 10 - 26 in the Westbury on Severn Area, for everyone, not just Farmers.

To advance the education of middle aged and older people who are not in gainful employment and to provide facilities for leisure time and recreational activities to improve conditions of life for such persons.

Running and caring for the village hall which is an essential part of life in this rural community. Regular fund raising is organised and social events such as the recent Jubilee celebrations.

THE PROVISION OF POSITIVE ACTIVITIES FOR RURAL YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 10 TO 28

To encourage men to discover the joy of singing and to develop the skills and ability to sing in a choir. To encourage and assist in the raising of funds for local charitable organisations in support of their local community activities.

Young Farmers Club for young people from the age of 10 years old which do various activities & hold 2 meetings per calendar month. We enable young people to gain skills and meet socially in a safe friendly environment. We are part of the Herefordshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs

The Symphony was formed in 1946 and provides the opportunity, both as performers and audience, for the people of Dartford and the surrounding area to enjoy music making of a high standard. Based the Mick Jagger Centre, the DSO continues to take music to the rural communities, is involved in music education projects, commissions new works. The DSO runs an annual Dartford Young Musician competition.

With in the Pitchcombe Parish and surrounding local areas we provide facilities for the benefit of the inhabitants in regards to arts/culture, sport/recreation, economic/community development/stroke employment by providing buildings/facilities/open space.

Providing financial support to needy members and their families of the Hampshire branch of the National Farmers Union and to make donations to The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and other charities of assistance generally to the farming community.

The Otford Society is an Amenities Charity specialising in strengthening community ties, preserving the rural and historic character of Otford and improving the quality of Otford Villaeg Life by providing funding to improve village amenities. We raise funds through membership subscription, donations and by running community events and fund raising activities.
